A huge week on the National Indigenous Music Chart this week as Invasion Day collides with a raft of amazing new First Nations releases. We’ve got a huge new one from Young Australian of the Year Baker Boy with Cool As Hell, which came within a whisker this week of knocking off the long-running #1 from Busby Marou. The Rocky lads will be watching their backs next week as the Danzel express continues to roll into town.
There’s also brand new ones from Benny Walker and Skinnyfish Sound System (featuring B2M, Birdz and Tasman Keith) which are making their mark on the chart for the first time andwe’ve also seen some old classics from Kev Carmody and Yothu Yindi re-enter this week as the nation has its week of self-reflection and debate.
The year has well and truly kicked in and next week we look like seeing some more new tracks and a real battle for the number one spot. How amazing is the health of Indigenous music right now? It’s cool as hell….

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
