Roady4Roadies is a fun, family orientated event happening around the country on 10 and 24 March with the aim of bringing public awareness to the unseen backbones of every music event we all enjoy. These people are roadies, the unsung heroes of the Australian music industry.
Roadies are amongst the most essential figures in the entertainment world. The reality is, no roadies = no show.
As Jimmy Barnes says of roadies – “The show has to happen and they’ll do whatever it takes for that to happen.”
Despite their hard work and dedication to the artists and events they work with and for, many roadies find themselves in precarious health and financial circumstances and Roady4Roadies will both shine a much deserved light on the diverse range of highly technical and creative skills required of live production crew, while raising desperately needed funds to help those in crisis.
Tickets for the Roady4Roadies walk and event are on sale now through Moshtix for only $30.00 and are strictly limited to just 300 participants in each capital city.
Every participant receives a tshirt, wristband, laminate and lanyard, with water and sunscreen provided along the way.
The day commences with the inaugural Roady4Roadies Walk (a leisurely 35kms), culminating in a variety of family activities and performances at well known entertainment precincts.
There will be BBQ’s, prizes and Roadie Games for the kids. Then there’s the Crewathlon, a fun and friendly competition between teams of roadies, with awards, speeches and prizes being given. There’ll also be raffles at each even with major prizes on offer including road cases valued at over $850 each. The day concludes with live entertainment from some of the country’s leading artists. These will be announced soon.
An Entertainment Assist study, conducted by Victoria University in 2015, revealed shocking rates of mental health problems within the entertainment industry. Figures showed the rate of attempted suicide in the industry is more than double the rest of the population. Scarily, it also found road crew members considered taking their own lives nearly nine times more than the general population.
Independent figures have shown one in six roadies commit suicide over eight times the national average!!!
The inaugural Roady4Roadies is our chance to give back to those who give us so much with walks taking place in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth on Sunday, 10 March and in Adelaide on Sunday, 24 March. The walks are open to the public and industry alike, with all profits going to Support Act.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
