After what was dubbed the party of the year at the Wool Store’s debut featuring Solomun last April, Untitled Group are proud to bring the Wool Store back to life this May with its second instalment headlined by renowned UK DJ, producer and Hot Creations label head Jamie Jones. Support line up will include German DJ, vocalist and song writer, MeggyShe will be joined by Still For Talent’s latest signing Made in Paris & Melbourne’s very own rising star Jordan Brando.

From outside the colossal building, one sees an iconic 1940s warehouse located in the inner-city location of West Footscray, however, within these walls you are transported out of Melbourne suburbia and into the European warehouse rave scene, where underground electronic music reigns and limits are constantly being pushed. The Wool Store is of great regional, historical, architectural and cultural significance. As one of the largest single wool store buildings in Victoria, built on a grand scale with considerable architectural refinement, it played a key role in the post-war wool boom which fuelled Australia’s economy at the time.

Untitled Group are dedicated to doing this monument justice, fitting it with a new world-class sound system paired with their signature meticulously curated production & set designs. Outside, patrons will find a contrasting open aired garden courtyard that will play host to the best in local talent as well as a complimenting contingent of art installations and food and beverage offerings. The Wool Store and Jamie Jones act as a fitting pair, considering his East London warehouse parties from the mid 00’s were a catalyst for his prosperous career to take off.  So join us for what is set to be one to go down in the history books on Saturday May 18.

Jamie Jones:

World renowned DJ and producer, Hot Creations label boss, founder and curator of the Paradise global event series and a member of cross-genre band Hot Natured, over the last decade Jamie Jones has pioneered his own distinct sound that has paved the way for a warmer, more melodic, side of techno to emerge.

It was DJs Can Dance – the East London warehouse parties he threw in the mid 00’s – that helped him make his mark on the capital, while the countless summers spent playing in Ibiza solidified him as an integral cog in the island’s music scene. 2010 saw him hold an esteemed residency at DC10 for Monday’s Circoloco parties, but little did he know that a year later he would be at the helm of one of the island’s most respected parties at the very same club.

As a raver, DC10 in Ibiza is the club where Jamie spent his summers on the dance floor and where he came to meet the family that would later make Paradise a reality. Wanting to offer something different to the Ibiza party circuit and inspired by Larry Levan’s legendary Paradise Garage parties in New York, he set out to create a party that was eclectic, creative with an intimate family feel. Now he’s bringing a little bit of Paradise to every corner of the globe with parties landing in cities like Miami, New York, LA, Moscow and Toronto. Over the years Paradise has grown globally, partnering with like minded brands and festivals including The Warehouse Project, Printworks, Tomorrowland, We Are Fstvl, BPM and DGTL.

To date, Jamie’s label Hot Creations has put out over 100 releases, with the 100th, ‘Kooky Chords’, coming from Jamie himself last September, hitting the number 2 spot on Beatport’s chart. The label has also helped launch the careers of numerous artists such as Patrick Topping, Richy Ahmed and Detlef, who also make up part of the loyal Paradise family Jamie has built around him.

Meggy:

Meggy, the accomplished German DJ, vocalist and song writer, is born and raised in the Mecca of Techno and House music, Berlin. She started getting into the groove of Techno and House beats from her rst encounter with one of the most well-respected clubs in Berlin, the old Tresor. This is when her interests for House and Techno grew immediately; shortly after, Meggy started her music career.

In 2012, Rampa started to take notice of Meggy’s many talents. Focusing specically on her singing skills, he instantly took the opportunity to put her well-trained sound varieties into good use; which inevitably was responsible for the success of their track “Everything” which was recognized internationally. Shortly after, Meggy’s schedule lled up quicker than she expected. People soon realised to collaborate with her and feature her voice on various projects, which resulted in her music career taking o to a whole new level of success.
