Seat belts on as Jade Bird shares her hair-raising new video for her current single ‘I Get No Joy‘. The single is taken from Jade’s fast-approaching and hotly anticipated self-titled debut album which is due to be released on Glassnote on the 19th April.

The official video for ‘I Get No Joy’ is unleashed on the world today. Directed by Jamie Thraves (Coldplay ‘The Scientist’, Radiohead ‘Just’), it’s a gripping film that finds Jade behind the wheel playing a stunt woman locked in both an in-front and behind the camera battle.

As the release of her debut album looms, Jade Bird has become one of the UK’s most treasured new talents. Her fiercely authentic and fearlessly raw sound has set her out in a lane of her own making her an enthralling breath of fresh air in the current musical landscape. ‘I Get No Joy’ has already taken up residency on the Radio 1 playlist and received a mass of support from all corners.

‘I Get No Joy’ is an exceptional taste of what is to come on her first full-length, picking up perfectly where previously released singles ‘Uh Huh’ and ‘Love Has All Been Done’ left us at the end of 2018 – the breakthrough year for Jade Bird.  She toured the globe profusely, became a household name on TV and Radio on both sides of the Atlantic (with performances on Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon and Jools Holland under her belt already) and, after writing over 200 songs over the course of the year, put the final dazzling touches on her 12 track debut.

Featuring just a small handful of those previously mentioned stellar singles, Jade Bird the record is a stunningly confident journey that explores finding, losing and most importantly observing love – in all it’s different forms. From the very first listen, it’s feels impossible to believe that Jade Bird is still only 21 as she effortlessly leaps between hugely challenging themes like divorce, disillusionment, cheating and sorrow.  However, these moments of sadness are constantly challenged with heaps of hugely uplifting and joyful songs and as a whole, the record is laced with boundless energy and positivity. Ultimately, it’s the sound of a young woman in full control of her sound and her song, with stories to tell and observations to share. If 2018 was the breakthrough year for Jade Bird, 2019 will be the year she takes flight and soars.

Jade has just been announced as part of London’s All Points East festival line-up, and will play alongside Mumford & Sons on June 1st.  Before then, she will head to America to support Hozier on his headline tour throughout March and April, and will also support Father John Misty and Jason Isbell on a handful of their dates while she’s there too. Full tour dates are available HERE.
