For the first time in 13 years, the world’s most renowned DJ partnership, Sasha and John Digweed, are set to return to Australia to reward their fans with a specially curated two-date journey into the depths of their craft. Sasha and John Digweed will take over Ministry of Sound Club at ivy for two unmissable sets over the long June weekend – one night time takeover on Saturday, June 8th, followed by an epic day set on Sunday, June 9th. With both shows promising to deliver their trademark extended back-to-back sets, Weekend In Residence with Sasha and John Digweed is an event in the calendar this year not to be missed by all of their dedicated Australian fans.
“Australia has always held a special place in our hearts and we wanted to deliver something unique for our long-time fans. We’ll be playing extended back-to-back night and day sets so people can really make a weekend of it and make it worth the wait.” – Sasha & John Digweed
Fans of Sasha and John Digweed have spent years yearning for their idols to join forces again. Since they last toured Australia together in 2006, Sasha and John Digweed have continued to build their solo careers crammed with accolades, spectacular shows and seriously good music. Enough to keep fans fed, you would think, but memories of the two DJs’ collaborations became legendary, as elusive and sought after as the Holy Grail.
Then in March 2016, the two producers sprang a surprise on clubbers at Ministry of Sound in London, when Sasha joined John onstage, following up in September 2016 with an official reunion at The Social Festival. Now fans can be reassured this wasn’t just a flash in the pan, with the duo set to make their long-awaited return to Australia.
The ecstatic reaction of their legions of devotees is built on solid foundations. John Digweed and Sasha spent almost two decades collaborating after their first meeting in 1992, and playing together at Renaissance the following year resulted in a stream of releases, world tours and pioneering achievements.
After the two DJs mixed the first Renaissance compilation CD release, The Mix Collection, in 1994, they spread the word across the UK in their Northern Exposure club nights, resulting in the Northern Exposure Mix CD which has consistently been rated as one of the best mix CDs of all time. A sell-out Australasia and USA tour extended their reach, consolidated in ’96 by their five-year residency at Twilo NYC. So entrancing was their individual yet complementary brand of music, they scored another first with the Delta Heavy 2002 tour when they became the first DJs to tour rock band style in the US with 37 sold out shows across North America. The impact these two DJs have had on the worldwide scene is incredible with their music and club shows touching all four corners of the world.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
