THEIA
New EP
“Not Your Princess”
packs an alt-pop punch

Praise for THEIA:
“The New Zealand native’s deft digital pop touch has a brooding undercurrent, a hidden element that comes sharply into focus.” – Clashon “Not Your Princess”
“(Theia’s) music is the best kind of pop: brave, brash, dark in places, and danceable as f*ck… She sounds like the love child of Charli XCX and a swimming pool filled with glitter and unicorns.” – Don’t Bore Us
“New Zealand singer-songwriter Theia has just released the third single, ‘Candy’, from her upcoming second EP. A storming pop track with hints of R&B and urban, it’s gorgeous melodies and skittering beats draw sonic comparisons to Taylor Swift and Gwen Stefani while also being utterly unique.” – Women In Pop

New Zealand’s own queen of girl power pop, THEIA, is back and better than ever. Following her breakout track “Candy”, as well as her most recent hit single of the same name, her brand new EP, “Not Your Princess”, is the ultimate feminist call to arms.
The release bursts with sultry R&B bangers, glitter-pop tracks and sweet and sour melodies that ebb and flow against a gritty soundscape of epic bass and crisp 808’s. With hints of Charli XCX and M.I.A, this EP is THEIA at her most powerful, saying, “screw you – you don’t own me.”
THEIA’s boss-lady mentality is also showcased in her music videos, which combine confidence, sass and sing-alongs in the most perfect way.

THEIA emerged in 2015, catching the attention of US tastemaker blogs HillyDilly and Pigeons And Planes with her song “Silver Second”. Her distinctive vocals and exquisite harmonies made a mark and left audiences around the world wanting more. She didn’t fail to deliver, following up with “Roam”, which went on to become one of the most successful songs released by a Kiwi artist in 2016. THEIA returned to the charts in 2018 with “Candy”, which saw her break sonic ground with this unapologetic carefree blast of pure energy.
Her six-track debut EP made charts worldwide, and on top of this, THEIA was announced as a finalist at the 2017 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards, which led to her travelling throughout 2017 opening for the Broods on their Summer NZ tour, supporting the Kite String Tangle on an Australian tour, and supporting platinum-selling megastar SIA at her NZ shows.
This EP is just a taste of the bright future THEIA has ahead of her, and with her already back in the studio writing and recording new material, we can’t wait to see what she does next.

AMNPLIFY- DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
