Defining undimmed ambition as the flag bearers for energetic, arena-filling alternative rock, Catfish and the Bottlemen celebrate the release of their third album, The Balance – OUT NOW via Island Records / Caroline Australia.

After a wait of almost three years, The Balance hits the playlists of a growing, ceaselessly passionate community of young fans worldwide. The response to recent singles, including Longshot (achieving 30 million streams and counting), 2all and live favourite Fluctuate‘, has only fanned the flames of expectation.

It’s when the band and their fans meet in supercharged performance that the Catfish phenomenon becomes boisterously apparent, with the band reunited with Aussie fans in July for a triumphant headline spot on Splendour in the Grass, alongside Spin Off Festival and a string of headline shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

Splendour In The Grass 2019 trails a jam-packed summer circuit that saw them command headline slots across several major UK festivals, and break new ground internationally appearing at top festivals in Italy, Spain, France, and the United States; also seeing out the New Year at Australia’s own Falls Festival.

Over the past eighteen months, the band has claimed their place as a bona fide arena band at home; adding an already sold-out UK arena tour in February 2019 to an impressive list of previously conquered stages.

Beyond Britain, Catfish and the Bottlemen’s global appeal stokes excitement within and surrounding the band for just how far their music can take them. With some Mexican fans having gone as far as starting a petition to secure a Catfish live date there, the band pencils in a date at Mexico City’s El Plaza Condesa on June 4 before heading to Denmark for Roskilde Festival (June 6) and a return to Japan as second stage headliners for the Summer Sonic Festival held in Osaka (August 16) and Tokyo (August 17).

The Balance was recorded by Van McCann (vocals, guitars), Johnny Bond (guitars), Robert ‘Bob’ Hall (drums) and Benji Blakeway (bass) over a 12-month period in the company of Irish producer, Jacknife Lee, in two secluded studios; Grouse Lodge, in Moate, Republic of Ireland, and The Chapel in the countryside of East Lincolnshire. The album was mixed by Craig Silvey.

The new album follows Catfish and The Bottlemen’s 2014 platinum-certified debut, The Balcony and Top 10 ARIA Chart successor The Ride (2016), including lead single ‘7’, which hit Gold status in Australia last April.
