After an emotional and monumental rollout, DJ Khaled has unveiled his twelfth full-length album and the music blockbuster of the summer, FATHER OF ASAHD, in stores and at all digital retailers NOW. Upon going live, it shot to the #1 of iTunes Overall Top Albums Chart and #1 on the Top Hip-Hop/Rap Albums Chart.
On Wednesday, The GRAMMY® nominated multiplatinum artist, music industry visionary, innovative influencer, mogul, and mega-producer set the stage for the album’s arrival by sharing a heartfelt and personal open letter on Instagram in regards to the passing of friend, close collaborator, and Los Angeles hip-hop legend Nipsey Hussle. In the piece, Khaled, co-writers, producers and label partners are donating 100% of all of their proceeds from ‘Higher’ to Nipsey’s children, Emani and Kross. As “vibrating on a ‘Higher’ level was the essence of Nipsey’s soul,” the song amplifies this vibration on the highest level possible.
Over the weekend, he debuted the heavenly music video for the track. Threaded together by some of the West Coast icon’s boldest bars and a skyscraping refrain from the crooner, the song might just be the most powerful in Khaled’s catalog. Khaled launched a full-scale media takeover starting last Wednesday. First up, he premiered the album cover art on the Times Square Jumbotron as chronicled by EXTRA TV! On Friday, he hit the couch on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for what was an unforgettable chat. On Saturday May 18, he shut down Saturday Night Live as the musical guest for the Season Finale. Watch ‘Jealous/You Stay’ here and ‘Just Us/Weather The Storm/Higher’ here! Sunday May 19, saw him head over to BRAVO to appear on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. This coming Wednesday May 22, he guests on Live With Kelly & Ryan and concludes this run Thursday May 23 with an appearance on CBS This Morning with Gayle King. Khaled also continues his partnership with Viacom on his historic release. MTV Presents “KHALEDCON”, an immersive, pop up fan luv experience in their Times Square studios all day on Friday May 17th. Khaled was Livestreaming with Sway from the event at 4pm EST on MTV’s YouTube and Facebook. MTV and BET aired all the videos on their world famous Times Sq digital billboards throughout the weekend. MTV Live and BET Jams will have Khaled video takeovers all day Monday May 20 at 12pm EST on MTV Live and Jams Tuesday May 21 at 6am EST.

FATHER OF ASAHD: THE ALBUM EXPERIENCE will be screened before Khaled sits down with Elliott Wilson for an in-depth CRWN interview about the project. The streaming service celebrated the highly anticipated album with an exclusive album release party in NYC on Friday, May 17 with TIDAL members having the chance to celebrate with Khaled himself as he launched his 11th studio album.
Additionally, he joined forces with Amazon Music for a massive out of home campaign. The campaign started with billboards in New York City and Los Angeles showcasing some of the featured artists from the album in conjunction with a daily feature in Amazon Music’s program, “Today in Music”. The campaign continues with nationwide out of home advertising in all 50 states booked through Milk Money, an on-demand media planning and buying platform. DJ Khaled is the first recording artist to utilize out of home media across 50 states to promote an album release.
