With River Sessions Music Festival now only five weeks away, and tickets on track to selling out, the Mackay festival team are proud to announce a new Meet & Greet competition through their Facebook page that will allow two lucky winners to get one on one time with local legends ILLY and LDRU.

Some of Australia’s best artists in their respective genres, ILLY and LDRU, have agreed to spoil 2 lucky fans with a meet and greet backstage at the festival. To be in the running, all fans have to do is go to the River Sessions Facebook page, find the meet and greet link and follow the instructions. The competition begins on Monday, May 27th and will end on Tuesday, June 4th, when the winner will be announced.

In this brand new competition, fans have the chance to meet internationally-acclaimed rapper ILLY in Mackay this year. Winning two APRA Awards in two years for smash hits “Papercuts (featuring Vera Blue)” and “Catch 22 (featuring Anne Marie)”, ILLY was also awarded the ARIA Award for ‘Best Live Act’ in 2017, cementing his reputation as an artist you won’t want to miss seeing on stage.

Also part of the prize is a meeting with DJ and hit-maker LDRU, who has been casting a spell over listeners across the globe with his tropical trap and house tracks. Hits like ‘Keeping Score’(the highest selling Aussie single of 2016), ‘Next To You’ and his latest slice ‘Me’ (featuring BOI), as well as his work on remixes of Flume, Lorde, Pnau and Jack Ü.

River Sessions Music Festival announced the impressive line-up in April featuring some of Australian music’s best and brightest young faces set to perform at their 2019 festival. Supported by triple j, the event boasts a myriad of pop and indie heavyweights, including AMY SHARK, THE RUBENS, ILLY, MIDDLE KIDS, SKEGSS, LDRU, STAND ATLANTIC and ALICE SKYE.

With an impressive selection of the best Aussie talent, 2019 is shaping up to be a huge year for the regional festival. Aiming to return to its roots as a boutique event, the festival will present one stage featuring high-quality Australian artists, along with a selection of local food vendors. In winter, North Queensland is the perfect escape and sees travellers make their way up to Mackay without fail every year. With not a cloud in the sky and 25+ degrees every day, Mackay is the perfect setting for a winter festival.

Don’t sit on the fence, you have been warned! River Sessions is selling fast.
