ARIA Hall Of Fame artist Glenn Shorrock commenced the show at 9:05pm with vocals in fine form to a conservative, seated audience. With a career spanning 50 years, the audience was guaranteed to hear some truly amazing tunes from Glenn! ‘IT’S A LONG WAY THERE ‘written by Graham Goble,  was the first mellow tune for the evening with a funky bassline provided from Paul Cartwright (Brian Cadd) on a Cimar jazz bass, performed under blue, green and magenta lights. Glenn mentioned he has recorded with well respected audio engineer and producer Bill Armstrong at Armstrong Studios. He also came from Elizabeth, South Australia.

Popular no.1 hit single ‘NEEDLE IN A HAYSTACK’ was next from Glenn’s band, The Twilights. This song was released in 1966, originally recorded by The Velvelettes. Love this song! Uptempo, great melody.

Glenn mentioned ‘The Twilights’ then split up after this song, Brian Cadd is still a close friend. Then we put a band together called ‘Axiom’. Third song performed was ‘Arkansas Grass’. Brilliant one!

Fourth song for the evening was ‘A LITTLE RAY OF SUNSHINE’. Superb song and songwriting from Brian Cadd and Don Mudie. A classic song from the Axiom album, ‘Fools Gold’, that continues to be loved by so many fans. Nice to see the audience singing along on a Friday night!! Great performance from Glenn and the band. Glenn mentions ‘Thank you Brian’.

Stories continue…Glenn mentioned in ‘1975 Little River Band …appeared on Sunday night 6:30pm Countdown… theme noise then sounded out….another funky bassline is played out by Paul, with brilliant ripper electric guitar from Pip Joyce and amazing backing vocals from the band.

The next song was the superb ‘CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT’., silky smooth, performance from Glenn and great backing vocals from the band. Very funky groove! Written by Beeb Birtles.  Glenn mentions ‘there are CD’s for sale for $25 which will sign after the show’..

The song ‘EMMA‘ was next. Drumming is great with a powerful intro. Delivered from Robi Parolin on a  Gretsch acoustic drum kit which created a vintage sound. Loved the melody.

‘TAKE IT EASY’ another great Little River Band song, with sincere vocal delivery. Emotive, with moody blues guitar sounds. Glenn hit the high notes at the end which was magnificent. Woo hoo!

‘LADY’ classic song. Fabulous band working very well together! Great outro. Huge applause. Glenn mentioned…‘As a boy I listened to Elvis, Little Richard, Bobby Darin’. Keys beautiful and harmonies amazing. Song ‘Dream Lover’ followed.

‘LOVE IS A BRIDGE’ emotive intro. Great song. Vocals sound smooth. Crystal clear. Drums were great. Cool red and green lights looked groovy. Perfect sounds. Huge applause on completion.

‘REMINISCING’ starts..the crowd is heard saying ‘ohhh’ they recognise this one of course!! Then I heard a lady mention … ‘this is a good song’….Clapping is started by Glenn and the audience picks up the pace and keeps it going! …. Backing vocals are also great on this one.  Glenn says ‘thank you to the crowd’. Beautiful, classic song which was successful in the U.S reaching number 3 on the Billboard charts!

‘SHUT DOWN, TURN OFF’ songwriting amazing from Glenn Shorrock. This very cool song is from the fourth album, Sleeper Catcher. Interesting electronic sounds.

…. Glenn mentions ‘in 1977, Elvis left the building. This song was written in Las Vegas.’ ‘HOME ON MONDAY’…. An absolute classic song!  Backing vocals perfect. Keys outro superb by Stewart Wilkinson (Ross Wilson) on the 76 key Nord.

‘HELP IS ON ITS WAY’, classic song written by Glenn Shorrock and Beeb Birtles was a crowd favourite with the audience clapping along and just loving the vibes. This song won Best Single at the Australian Rock Music Awards in 1978. Harmonies beautiful….Four guitars on the go on stage…how magnificent!! Woo hoo! Glenn stands up for this song. Dance floor fills up very quickly!! So awesome.

It was so great to hear all the classic songs that I grew up with! Glenn said ‘I have been doing this for a long time’… audience applauses! ‘I get to work with great people, band and all the road crew’.  ‘COOL CHANGE’ written in 1977, emotive, vocal performance from Glenn. Keys work was amazing. The audience were loving the sounds of this song. Lead/Rhythm guitar from Pip Joyce and James Ryan both using Fender Strats were brilliant. Sound was also great from Front of house/Tour manager, Michael Chandler. This song has been classed as one of the Top 30 Australian songs of all time by APRA.

Last songs for the evening were The Beatles classic medley of songs from Abbey Road including ‘Golden Slumbers’, ‘Carry That Weight’, ‘The End’ melody. Absolutely amazing and appreciated by the audience. Classic Abbey Road!! Drumming exceptional from Robi Parolin. What a way to end the evening @ 10:26pm!
