Norway’s young revelation girl in red is proving to be one of the most exciting emerging acts in Europe at the moment. Her songs and videos including her most recent single dead girl in the pool (which was recently added to the triple j playlist), have so far received over 70 million streams worldwide and garnered the young artist an extraordinary amount of attention from across the globe among the likes of The New York Times, The Guardian, Vogue UK, Billboard,Complex. Her new release titled i’ll die anyway which premiered on BBC Radio 1 with Annie Mac, is her most honest, introspective single yet. Her forthcoming EP titled chapter 2 is also today announced for release on September 6 via AWAL.
Perhaps it’s not an existential crisis, but it’s certainly a song that captures many questions about life, with none but one answer she’s sure of. Explaining the song’s narrative, girl in red says “i think this is the most honest song i’ve written on how i perceive my life. understanding life and what it means to be human is difficult. i’ve always questioned my existence, meaning, time and the universe. all i know is that i don’t know, and the only thing that’s guaranteed is i’ll die anyway.”
The i’ll die anyway video premiered via The Fader who declared of the track “Norway’s girl in red is back to make us question everything with her brilliantly depressing new song “I’ll Die Anyway.” Over new wave-inspired guitars 20-year-old Marie Ulven from Oslo paints a familiar tale of self-doubt and unknowing…”

In 2017, girl in red found herself catapulted to the status of teenage LGBTQ+ icon when her track i wanna be your girlfriend went viral, winning her a devoted fanbase that’s grown at a staggering pace over the last eighteen months. Last year girl in red released her debut EP titled chapter 1, a collection of songs penned in her bedroom, that went on to garner support of a wild hoard of tastemaker praise.
girl in red was one of the most talked about acts at this years The Great Escape, with the likes of NME naming her among “The most exciting new artists we saw this year” and who stated of her live performance “By far one of the most hyped acts of this year’s festival, girl in red played to packed-out rooms across weekend… her disarmingly self-deprecating humour and lo-fi pop bangers about teenage depression and sexual freedom pierce through the usual music industry nonchalance and gig chatter to kick off a bit of a party.”
girl in red has only just wrapped up her recent sold-out world tour and she has just announced another string of headline tour dates across the US, the UK and Europe for the second half of 2019. Keep up to date with all things girl in red via www.worldinred.com.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
