“From sleazy rock excess, to introspective, cracked psychedelia and back again” – THE FADER

“Pond…are very good at nailing tracks with best-of-both worlds approach, fusing those indulgent chunks of far-outness with fundamentally solid rock’n’roll tunes.” – PITCHFORK

“Allbrook, much like Bradford Cox or even Bowie, has a knack for conveying the beauty and madness of the human condition in his lyrics and performance… Pond’s slickest effort so far”. – UNCUT

Following radiant sets at Splendour in the Grass and Glastonbury, Pond has today shared the new video for The Boys Are Killing MeThe track features on their critically acclaimed eighth studio album Tasmania, which debuted at #15 on the ARIA album chart and #2 on the AIR independent chart in March. With a North American tour announced today and a slew of festival sets and headline shows across Europe and the UK over coming months,  the Perth five-piece will return to the Australia in January to perform as special guests for Mac DeMarco.

The Boys Are Killing Me thunders with 808’s and heartbreak, a palpable, grandiose distrust of the bad bastards both outside and in, via a heaving chorus and monumental climax worthy of its own prog opera. The visual accompaniment was captured by Jay Watson while the band were on tour in Sweden, UK and France this year.   The clip’s outro was filmed by Julien Barbagallo, and was edited by Jamie Terry and Pond.

Pond’s most critically acclaimed album to date, Tasmania, is their dejected meditation on planetary discord, water, machismo, shame, blame and responsibility, love, blood and empire, produced and mixed by  Kevin Parker and Pond.  Acting as some kind of sister missive to their 2017 opus The Weather, the LP features the alt-pop anthem Daisy,  psychedelic space romp Sixteen Days and spatial adventure Burnt Out Star

Pond possess an ever-expanding performance resumé, having toured with Arctic Monkeys, MGMT and Flaming Lips. They stunned at premiere musical festivals around the world including Coachella, Primavera, Bonnaroo, Reading and Leeds, The Governors Ball, South by Southwest, St Jerome’s Laneway and more, and have sold out countless venues around the globe from New York’s Bowery Ballroom to Paris’ La Gaite Lyrique and London’s O2 Forum.
