[THE BAND NOT THE SUBURB!]
AND THEIR DEBUT SINGLE
“SORRY WON’T GET YOU BACK”

Obviously, it’s a long way from Darlinghurst to Nashville. Even further if you start from the outskirts of Melbourne and set out via London. It’s taken years but now, finally, they’ve arrived. All divergent paths have led right here. Welcome to Darlinghurst, a new Melbourne four-piece band set to redefine Australian country music.
The band’s debut single, Sorry Won’t Get You Back, is released and officially serviced to radio today. The video has already been added to CMC along with radio adds confirmed from the likes of Kix Country, IHeartRadio, MMM Country and a myriad of community country stations.
Kix Country Network’s National Content Director, Justin Thomson, said, “It’s so exciting when you find a new band to follow and Darlinghurst is like finding hidden treasure! I’ve had the pleasure of seeing them perform and everyone is in for a treat, immaculate vocals and musicianship with great songs!”
So just who are Darlinghurst?
JASON RESCH (guitar, vocals) is arguably the most successful Australian songwriter you’ve never heard of. With his mod-ish mop and immaculate vintage suits, Jason initially looks more suited to The Rolling Stones in 1965 than an alt-country-rock outfit in 2019, but Jase has dedicated a big chunk of his young life to his love of country, having lived and worked in Nashville for years before recently resettling back to his hometown of Melbourne.
CASSIE LEOPOLD & PAGAN NEWMAN (vocals) were a duo long before their powerful harmonies helped forge the foundation of this new quartet. Wait until you hear these voices together! Cass and Paigs: a force of nature, technically unrelated but inseparable sisters in life and song.
MATT DARVIDIS (guitar, vocals) is the new kid on the proverbial block and both a prodigious guitarist and amazing vocalist who added the final piece to the Darlinghurst puzzle.

Sorry Won’t Get You Back, is about betrayal, heartbreak and loss – a love so shattered it’s beyond repair and was written by Jason, Cassie and Pagan.
Legendary radio programmer and trailblazer in the country genre, Trevor Smith, who helped launch the single to close to 100 music industry and media at the Café Lounge in Sydney last week said, “Darlinghurst are a very appropriately named city/country band who hail from Melbourne”.
“Their sound is as fresh as tomorrow – great original songs, excellent musical chops and high end production values; all combined with a hot contemporary look as featured in their video for ‘Sorry Won’t Get You Back’.
‘‘Being a 4 piece outfit featuring two guys and two girls, Darlinghurst are unique in Australia and compare favourably with hit acts like Little Big Town & Lady Antebellum.
He added, “Having listened to 6 tracks so far, it seems that Helium Records may well have a tiger by the tail!”.
Darlinghurst recently performed at Groundwater Festival at Broadbeach and in August hold a special featured slot that kicks off the Gympie Muster, with more shows to follow.
Sorry Won’t Get You Back is released today on Helium Records through MGM Distribution.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
