Surprise! Adored indie-rockers Even may be busy organising their 25th anniversary celebrations, but rather than keep all the birthday presents to themselves, the band have gifted their fans with a brand new, unreleased single, ‘Mark The Days’, while announcing Laura Imbruglia, Immigrant Union and Rinehearts as tour supports.

Recorded in Brisbane with prolific producer/engineer Jeff Lovejoy, ‘Mark The Days’ is yet another instalment in Even’s illustrious and enduring career to date.

According to singer-songwriter/guitarist Ashley Naylor, the single symbolises the need to cherish life events as they unfold, while appreciating the special people we meet and moments we experience along the way.

“In the exhilarating ’90s whirlwind Even found itself in, I often neglected to stop and appreciate how lucky I was to be part of a thriving music scene and in a band that was attracting a buzz.

Now I’m older and very appreciative of all the moments the band has experienced. Our time together is based on music and camaraderie and marking the days is a metaphor for enjoying events as they happen and noting it, relishing it.

‘Mark The Days’ was given its title the day Mark Hollis from Talk Talk passed away. Their song, ‘Life’s What You Make It’ has resonated with me since the ’80s. Coincidentally or intentionally, his name appears in the song title. Other people close to us have also passed on recently and the song also alludes to those losses”.

Tickets to the Even 25 Years anniversary tour are on sale now and are moving.
