This summer, the BACARDÍ El Coco Tropical Danceteria returns to your favourite Australian festivals, launching first at Spilt Milk with the taste, sight & sounds of the tropics in Ballarat and Canberra. The first list of artists due to grace the BACARDÍ El Coco stage, include DJ sets from Winston Surfshirt, REMI, dance classes with Amrita Hepi and many more.

After launching across last summer’s festival season, enjoy a return journey to the Carribbean in 2019 at the BACARDÍ El Coco Tropical Danceteria, an all-day party of non-stop good times and out of this world moments to be experienced with a freshly poured mojito in hand.

The Bacardi family have always known the right ingredients for a great party and the BACARDÍ El Coco tour, named after the symbolic ‘El Coco’ coconut palm planted outside the original BACARDÍ Distillery in 1862, continues this long-standing love affair with good music, great parties and even better drinks. Fresh BACARDÍ mojitos will be hand-poured from a vintage 1950s chevy truck, converted into a first-of-its-kind rolling mojito cocktail bar.

BACARDÍ El Coco will return to Spilt Milk on November 23 and November 30, for two days of tropicana-influenced fun and mojitos in Canberra and Ballarat. From Spilt Milk Canberra, take solace beneath an umbrella with fresh mojito at the ready while discovering the latest musical finds in a DJ set from Northern Beaches heroes, Winston Surfshirt or a ground shaking performance by Genesis Owusu and his fiery Goon Squad. Go centre stage for a dance class with Amrita Hepi, or relish in body-moving mixes from Man Like Mustii and Canberra’s Jaded Smith. Teriyaki Mami will spin a lush Drizzy Dedications set, while Aywy and Latifa Tee offer up tropical leaning hip-hop, R&B selects and a smattering of base to get down to under a mojito mist.

One week later on November 30, venture to the BACARDÍ El Coco Tropical Danceteria at Spilt Milk Ballarat for a DJ set from Melbourne hip-hop duo REMI, before Soju Gang leads her own Drizzy Tropical Dedications set in honour of the Toronto music mogul. Be present for the golden hour when Phil Fresh and Agung Mango lead a mix of sundown cyphers, test your moves at Amrita Hepi’s dance class, and enjoy cuts of hip-hop, rap and afro-beat from Shelley, Matka and Jerry C all accompanied by an original BACARDÍ mojito.

About BACARDÍ

In 1862, in the city of Santiago de Cuba, founder Don Facundo Bacardi Massó revolutionized the spirits industry when he created a light-bodied rum with a particularly smooth taste – BACARDÍ. The unique taste of BACARDÍ rum inspired cocktail pioneers to invent some of the world’s most famous cocktail recipes including the Original BACARDÍ Daiquiri, the Original BACARDÍ Mojito, the BACARDÍ Cuba Libre, the BACARDÍ Piña Colada and the BACARDÍ Presidente.

BACARDÍ is the world’s most awarded rum, with more than 550 awards for quality, taste and innovation. Today, BACARDÍ rum is made in Puerto Rico and Mexico, where it is crafted to ensure the taste remains the same today as it did when it was first blended in 1862.
