Today, Musicians Making A Difference (MMAD) and Universal Music Australia are excited to announce the release of the 2019 campaign track “FOR THE FIRST TIME” featuring 2017 AGT winner Fletcher Pilon for Musicians Making A Difference Day on Friday December 6. MMAD Ambassador Pilon has been involved with MMAD for five years, with the charity helping to support him through his own challenges.
For the First Time was inspired and co-written by ten young people from MMAD, each with their own remarkable story of overcoming personal adversity, including depression, homelessness and addiction, with the support of the music charity. They came together with writer Lucy Taylor at Forbes Street Studios in Sydney to pen the uplifting lyrics digging deep into their personal experiences.
Says MMAD Graduate Jazz: “The song is all about breaking free of depression and anxiety and living for the first time”

MMAD Day is all about celebrating music and the songs that changed us, the ones that got under our skin to help us through tough times. On Friday December 6th we want everyone to share a song that has changed their life with the hashtag #myanthem
Says MMAD Co-Founder Dominic Brook: “Music is a powerful tool that many of us use in our day to day lives to help us through personal challenges. We use it to help young people navigate personal hardship and find their way towards a healthy, happy place in life. MMAD Day is about encouraging people to share the songs that inspired them through their tough times, so that others might be inspired to overcome theirs.”

Universal Music Australia partners with MMAD for a fifth year to mentor the group of young survivors. The powerful campaign created by the group and their industry mentors shares some of the life-changing messages of the charity with the wider community and empowers young people to make their own difference through their song, video and campaign. The campaign challenges everyday Australians to create personal and social change.
Musicians Making A Difference Day is a day dedicated to celebrating music and the songs that changed us. On Musicians Making a Difference Day, share a song or piece of music that has had an impact on your life with the hashtag #myanthem.
Your anthem could become the music that makes a difference to someone else in their time of need.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
