Jameson invites you and your mates to Jameson Rounds at The Royal, a free Sunday summer series celebrating live music, Irish whiskey and community spirit at Bondi’s The Royal Hotel from Sunday,December 15 through to Sunday, March 1. The kickoff of the weekly music series on December 15 will see live performances from These New South Whales, Flying Machine, Prudence and Baby Beef, as one of Bondi’s most historic venues comes alive with the taste and sound of whiskey between mates.

The stacked program will be curated by three renowned local creatives, with legendary music photographer and Bondi local, James Adams leading the charge for December’s series. Shooting some of the biggest names in music, Adams has carefully selected his favourite and upcoming talent to take to the stage over the month of December.

Set to prove they are anything but a joke, comedic punk-rockers These New South Whales headline Adam’s hefty lineup on Sunday December 15, showcasing their newly refined sound and aesthetic. Byron Bay’s emerging psych-punk 3-piece Flying Machine will draw on The Royal’s historical musical roots with their signature garage jams, before Tom Crandles of the DMA’s takes to the stage with his euphoric solo project, Prudence. Rounding off the bill is the hyper-imaginative indie-pop trio Baby Beef, with a live set mixing karaoke and synchronised dance.

The weekly series will be supplemented by Jameson’s House Band; an interchanging mix of some of Australia’s most renowned genre-spanning acts, coming together to draw on some of history’s most significant musical moments. Jameson’s mystery act will pay homage to the best of J Dilla, Fleetwood Mac and the acclaimed soundtrack to Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo and Juliet from the Royal stage. Head to Jameson’s Facebook page to keep up-to-date with further lineup announcements across December.

Alongside a stellar curation of local acts, James Adams will be showcasing his most esteemed works as part of a photography exhibition in the hotel’s side room on December 15, while Lennox Head-based tattoo artist Brodie Jackson is taking to the pen with a series of works available to purchase in the form of merch on launch night.

Jameson’s commitment to community spirit will continue throughout the summer series. All merchandise proceeds, as well as well as a $1 throwback from every Jameson drink purchased, will be donated to the NSW Rural Fire Service.

James Adams on Rounds at The Royal:

“I’ve lived in Bondi Beach for 7 years now and in turn, I’ve been going to The Royal for 7 years. I’ve had birthdays there, I’ve embarrassed myself singing karaoke there and I’ve had some of the best pool games of my life there. There’s been a lot of artists come and go on from that stage in the corner, so I couldn’t be happier to have the trust of Jameson to curate the first series of Rounds at The Royal”.

About Jameson Whiskey
In 1780, John Jameson established a way of making Irish whiskey that we’ve been proudly sticking to ever since. As you can imagine, producing a whiskey that has been enjoyed for over two centuries, takes a lot. But don’t worry, we’ve distilled over 200 years of courage, craft and a collective appreciation for taste, into each and every bottle. The secret behind our signature smoothness is our process and our people. Triple distilled, twice as smooth, one of a kind. First, we take the best of pot still and fine grain whiskeys. Then we triple distil them – not because we have to because we want to as it gives it its signature smoothness. Finally, we age them in oak casks for a minimum of 4 years. Why do we do all that? Taste, that’s why. Best served over ice with dry ginger ale and a squeeze of lime.
Enjoy Jameson Responsibly.

About The Royal Hotel
An iconic watering hole since 1907, this place knows how to have a good time. The front bar at The Royal gives you everything you’d expect from a classic local, and we’ve thrown in few extras, because, why not? If you’re keen to make the party happen, choose some crowd-pleasers from our digital take on the old-school jukebox.

So, head in for a quick drink and game of pool, settle in for a Sunday sesh or party into the night.
