Having formed The Know in Sydney’s inner west in 2017, this five-piece will get you grooving with their blues inspired track “Hurt Somebody”, a throwback to the fast and loose rock of the 60’s. The band will be celebrating the release of their new single with a gig at Bridge Hotel on 20 December. Having already received airplay on Triple J Unearthed and FBI radio with their previous two singles worked on with Ocean Alley’s Callum Howell, “The Joker” and “Honey”, The Know are set to impress further with “Hurt Somebody”, blending their influences of The Arctic Monkeys and The Black Keys to deliver a track that is reminiscent of the Rolling Stones “Gimme Shelter”.
Produced by Wade Keighran (Wolf & Cub, Polish Club) in Marrickville’s Golden Retriever Studio’s, “Hurt Somebody” borrows the harmonic vocals of Alice Litchfield and Belle Perrignon in the chorus to help achieve a sound which is sure to get their fans romping about. The band’s lead singer Dugald Holloway shared that “it’s been amazing working with such talented producers as Wade Keighran and Callum Howell. These guys have worked with massive artists and getting feedback from them has been really insightful.”
Having already headlined and packed out some of Sydney’s biggest and best with their tight and brazen rock sound, such as Oxford Art Factory main room, The Lansdowne, The Vanguard, and The Chippendale Hotel, “Hurt Somebody” kept the ball rolling as The Know eyed off Newtown Festival with a support slot for British India in November to round out 2019.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
