Waxflower have been busy turning heads with their nostalgic brand of emotive pop punk, and are today excited to unveil the visually stunning accompanying video for their latest single, ‘Together’.
The video was shot on a picturesque cactus farm, tucked away in the Sunshine Coast hinterland and owned by an eccentric collector, making the filming process that much more enjoyable and special for the band.
“The cactus farm served as a great visual metaphor for the song’s theme,” reflects Tristan Higginson, the band’s frontman. “Being surrounded by these thoughts that can hurt you, and carefully avoiding them as to not make your situation worse.”

As well as serving as a poignant visual metaphor, the cacti served as a source of comic relief for the band during the shoot.
“There is a shot in the cactus farm where both Nick and Jordan had to walk backwards as I sang to the camera. There were sharp cactus overhanging the track so Jordan had to act as spotter for Nick as he kept his eyes on the shot. Amazingly, I was the only person who got pricked due to sheer clumsiness,” says Higginson.
“’Together’ is an important snapshot of a difficult period in my life. I needed that internal acknowledgment of what was happening to me. It’s a kind of rally call to getting better by putting things in to perspective.”
A star-studded team came together to bring the single to life – produced & engineered by Stevie Knight (Stand Atlantic, Yours Truly, Between You & Me), with mixing by James Paul Wisner (Dashboard Confessional, New Found Glory, Underoath), and mastering by Alan Douches (My Chemical Romance, A Day To Remember, State Champs).
