Sweden-based pop singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Robin Lundbäck is Boy In Space, the fresh-faced pop act taking the world by storm. This exciting newcomer is ringing in the new year with the release of his ethereal and addictive electro-pop single “Caroline”, dropped today; Friday 7th February.

“Caroline” embodies the celluloid nostalgia of a coming-of-age teen flick set to hip-hop beats, and welcomes listeners into a wild and wonderful world untethered from reality. This release, along with his previous streaming hits “7UP”, “On A Prayer” and “Cold”, is set to cement him amongst the ranks of bright rising pop stars, alongside the likes of label-mates LAUV and FINNEAS, and touring buddy Alec Benjamin.

Robin said of the new single; “‘Caroline’ is that person that you’re crushing on… but they are completely out of your league and untouchable. Everybody knew a ‘Caroline’ growing up and will never forget them.”

With millions of streams on Spotify and acclaim from Paper, Dujour, Just Jared, Ones To Watch, Spindle, and Wonderland, all within a year since his independent emergence in 2018, Boy In Space has a huge 2020 ahead. Despite having not yet released an EP or an album, he has racked up an impressive 35 million streams on his five singles.

His journey began in a tiny town 45 minutes outside of Gothenburg, highly inspired by his parents diverse record collection he felt like he was “born into music like a second or even first language he had no choice but to learn”. Boy In Space does endeavour to venture into a new sonic space, but still recognises his roots in Swedish pop.

“I want to bring people into my head, which can be pretty weird,” he said. “Boy In Space stands for my own space. It’s what I try to express and the vision I share. I have so many different ideas. There’s a creative spin to everything I do. We’re just getting started on this journey together.”

By composing meaningful lyrics, Boy in Space balances his ability to illustrate the intensities of youth, the cold sting of heartbreak and suffocation of betrayal while creating boundless melodies that are destined for a revisit. By entering his head you might just feel a little better.
