The biggest names in Australian roots music are set to coverage on the luscious lawns of the Adelaide Hill’s oldest and most historic pub, The Three Brothers Arms, for the inaugural Goat’s Head Festival on Saturday the 14th of March, 2020.

The boutique festival, will see compelling Australian roots musician C.W. Stoneking, award-winning blues guitarist Fiona Boyes, blues legend Matt Taylor from Chain, Balinese group The Unb’rocken and local favourites Anthony D’Antonio, Alana Jagt, Gumbo Yaya and the Streamliners take to the stage.

The historic pub, which was built in 1841, has become a central point for young musicians in the region and has been used as a launching pad for their careers.

“We are incredibly passionate about continuing to build Macclesfield as a centre for arts and history.

“The Goat’s Head Festival allows young musicians to rub shoulders and perform alongside some of the biggest names in the industry,” said pub owner John Jagt.

Known for his unique ability to unify blues, jazz, hokum, country and rock ’n’ roll, C.W. Stoneking is set to captivate fans with his incredible storytelling powers.

“C.W has built up a cult following and is someone who brings the unexpected… He surprises first-time listeners and throws curveballs at long-time fans… He brings such an amazing energy to the line-up,” said John Jagt.

Festival goers can sit back and enjoy the sounds of award-winning blues vocalist and guitarist, Fiona Boyes, who is the only Australian musician to ever be recognised in America’s Blues Music Awards, with eight nominations.

With a career spanning more than five decades, blues legend Matt Taylor and band Chain, will get the crowd on its feet when they take to the stage to perform classics, ‘I Remember When I Was Young,’ and ‘Black & Blue.’

The event is a family affair, with festival creator and pub owner, John Jagt taking to the stage with daughter Alana Jagt.

The rising star, fresh from performing at Dashville Skyline and Australia’s premier music industry festival Bigsound honed her craft playing in The Three Brother’s Arms front bar and is ecstatic to be returning to her roots.

“Alana is part of an exciting group of artists making their way through the largely underground music scene.

“It’s always brilliant when your kids have the same passions as yourself and these days any chance I get to sing or play with Alana makes my day,” said John Jagt.

The Three Brother’s Arms will be transformed into a music lovers dream, with the main stage positioned at the bottom of the yard, a stage on the deck and live bands playing in the bar between main sets.

Nestled amongst the gums, The Goat’s Festival will feature a variety of beer tents and produce from the best in the region, with a smorgasbord of food tents, as well as merchandise from musicians.

Festivalgoers can make a weekend of it, with camping available at Macclesfield Recreation Grounds for just $10, as well as bus pick up from Adelaide Convention Centre at 12:30pm for $25.
