“AUSTRALIA’S LIVE AID”
Dozens of Aussie icons alongside many incredible international acts, took to the stage on February 16th at ANZ Stadium in Sydney for the Fire Fight Australia concert. Artists dedicated their time to come down under and perform at this extraordinary concert to help raise money for bushfire relief.
.
.
Kicking off at 1pm, the show began with the wonderful Lee Kernaghan. Kernaghan was followed by an all Aussie lineup including Conrad Sewell, Baker Boy, Daryl Braithwaite, Pete Murray and Grinspoon. The crowds gradually grew larger from the early afternoon filling up the entire stadium.
.
.
Later on in the afternoon, Delta Goodrem graced the stage with her beauty. She walked on stage with pride, holding an Australian flag representing her country and how proud she is to be Australian. Goodrem opened her twenty minute set with an Aussie classic ‘I am Australian’, originally performed by The Seekers. In this time of crisis we come together as one to lend a helping hand to our fellow Australians affected by the bushfires.

During the final leg of his Australian tour, the rock legend Alice Cooper attended the Fire Fight concert to stand with Australia during this bushfire crisis. The 72 year old captivated the entire audience with his iconic costumes and makeup, performing hits ‘Poison’ and ’School’s Out’.
.
.
The vibe in the stadium was ecstatic. All 75,000 people enjoying all the flawless performances whilst donating and purchasing the t-shirts to support Bushfire relief. From this point onwards the show was about to go off!
The legendary Queen and Adam Lambert performed their Live Aid set from 34 years ago. The set included hits ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, ‘Radio GaGa’, ‘Hammer To Fall’, closing with ‘We Are The Champions’.
.
.
Included in their performance was a clip of Freddie Mercury calling and responding to his audience “Ayooo”. It was a remarkable tribute to Freddie having the entire stadium mesmerised and responding to Freddie as his legacy lives on. A once in a lifetime performance for such an amazing cause. Not one single person was seated during Queen‘s electrifying performance.
.
.
Australia’s very loved John Farnham (Farnsy) closed the ten hour show. Olivia Newton- John made a special appearance during “Two Strong Hearts”. A phenomenal way to end the show. Farnsy invited Queen’s Brian May and Indigenous artist Mitch Tambo to assist him in a powerhouse finale performance of ‘You’re The Voice’.
.
.
As the show came to a close, Aussie comedian and host of the concert Celeste Barber, took to the stage for a final time to reveal that a whopping $8.8 million was raised during the period of the concert (which is astonishing).
.
.
An incredible lineup for an even more incredible cause.
