Praise for Michael Dunstan
“Damn this is a pleasant few minutes spent in Michael’s company. Warm and a smidge bit wistful.” – Dave Ruby Howe (triple j) on “Lay In The Sun”
“Western Australian singer-songwriter Michael Dunstan makes thoughtful, warm folk music that at once feels universal and intimate. His latest single, ‘Smoulder or Ignite’, is a lush campfire meditation on the unpredictable passage of time, and the inevitable change in relationships that the future brings.” – Music Feeds
“Pleasing guitar plucks and soothing tones welcome us into the song. Dunstan’s mesmerizing and calming vocals quickly cut in as you begin the journey with him… Dunstan… sings in a way where you know he is feeling each and every word. The lyrics take on a life of their own in a way that is unique to only him.” – Atwood Magazine
“A cracking folk tune.” – The AU Review on “Smoulder Or Ignite”
“Michael’s pensive writing reflects and explores periods of travel, calm and silence, and the accompanying revelations and growth found while transitioning through life.” – The Western Australian
“Dunstan’s sound is characterised by warm soulful vocals, intricate fingerpicking, and up-beat foot stomping grooves.” – Busselton Mail

“In The Grand Scheme” shows off Dunstan’s pensive writing skills, and explores periods of travel, calm and silence, and the accompanying growth found while transitioning through light to dark periods of our lives. This new chapter opens up Dunstan’s thoughts to the world, seeing his songwriting mature and become more defined, as he blends his thought-provoking lyrics within his airy and free-flowing minimalist instrumentation.
Fans will be able to witness the debut album live for the very first time on Michael Dunstan’s headline national tour, which kicked off last night, this time accompanied by a 3-piece band. $1 from each ticket sold will be donated to Happy Monday, in support of touring member Daniel Hedley. Whose mission is to ride 6500kms from Brisbane to Perth on a Penny Farthing, and raise 1 million dollars for a variety of mental health organisations, including Beyond Blue and Headspace.
Venturing far from his quaint regional upbringing in the vast Western Australian Wheatbelt, Michael Dunstan has accomplished a huge amount for being only 24 years old. Touring Australia four times and New Zealand twice in the last 18 months, Dunstan has been welcomed with a warm and loyal following, with shows largely selling out. Openly sharing personal past struggles with heavy anxiety, Dunstan hopes that all those who see him perform will leave with a sense of mindfulness, and share a new-found appreciation of the beautiful world in which we live.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
