Recently independent alternative/rock band NEEDSHES returned with the new alt/rock single “Don’t Make Me Cry” out via The Orchard. The new release came soon after their latest single “Love” which was premiered on PopMatters as well as got heavy rotation on idobi Anthm in February 2020. Their previous 2-track single “When The Music’s Going Through You” became the main music theme for Lay’s TV Ad campaign in 32 European countries in November 2019. Besides, in May 2019 the band presented their third full-length album, Truth Power, which got support from Alt Press, Substream, and charted on Hype Machine.

The new experimental sound was influenced by Jack White, Bishop Briggs, Moby, Childish Gambino. “Don’t Make Me Cry” transcends the limitations of singular genres, blending alternative rock, trap, soul, and orchestral tune into a unique epic sound. The mystery instrumental opening immediately puts you into a cathartic mood. The chorus flowing like melting butter switches to the cutting and edgy second verse followed by juicy rock’n’roll solo. The song deals with the perception of the controversial human world, values which often can be misleading and disruptive, willingness to be alive and free amidst the chaos.

The release came out together with the glossy vintage Animated Music Video showcasing the artistic fantasy and animation skills of the band’s frontman Otabek Salamov. With animated figures and colorful textures, he puts the audience in a trance. Spoiler alarm: Have you ever seen a business lion, a lady with a cow head and an astronaut running on a flared planet? See for yourself what pure anarchy looks like! Music Video turns the tension in the song into straight-up satire.

The song is preceded by the Intro, instrumental orchestra, “In The Cradle of Truth.” Listen to the full 2-track release here.

About NEEDSHES

NEEDSHES is an independent alt/rock band founded by Uzbekistan-born singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Otabek Salamov. With a musically diverse experience in mind, Bek conceptualized the ideology of NEEDSHES in 2013. Stemming from his childhood, he encapsulates his art for composing bluesy story-telling songs with love ballads infused with swagger punk rock and suffocating alt-rock/hip-hop tints. In 2016 after several line-up changes, Ivan Petukhov (guitar) and Alexey Manakhov (drums) joined his team and made it possible for the sound created in the studio to fully sound live.

Over the years, they have garnered tremendous recognition for their singles “Time to See,” “Anything You Want” and the latest album “Truth Power”. Their songs got heavy rotation on idobi Radio, were featured on BBC Radio 6 Music, became a soundtrack for numerous Renault and Lay’s TV commercials, internationally distributed movies such as Break, Quackerz, and sitcoms. Besides, the band has charted on Apple Music, Hype Machine, and won the Unsigned Only 2017 contest in Rock genre with the song “Time to See”.

In August 2019, they released the single “My Heart” and performed as a special guest at the concert of You Me At Six in Moscow. In November 2019 they released the two brand new singles “Superstar” and “Unbelievable” which became the main theme for Lay’s TV commercials which will be shown in 32 European countries during the whole year 2020. Their first release in 2020 was the single “Love” which was premiered on Pop Matters and gained heavy rotation on idobi Anthm.

NEEDSHES offer a signature alternative rock foundation with elements of blues, funk, soul, and punk. They stand out with their smooth and powerful vocal arrangements, catchy melodies, often cinematic vibes, and uncommonly diverse genre approach.  Someone once described them as a balancing act between the atmosphere of The NBHD, with dainty anthems reminiscent of The Killers, a bit of the oddball nature of Jack White and the heartbreaking ballad skillset of Coldplay.

Their new brainchild, “Don’t Make Me Cry” is slated to bring tremendous appraise for NEEDSHES. Fans can stream it today!
