The Slow Rush, Kevin Parker’s fourth album as Tame Impala was released in February to wide-spread acclaim. With it, Parker scored his second #1 in Australia, his highest charting album to date in both the US and UK, and 14 top 10 chart positions around the world. Last night, Parker performed on the Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Since The Slow Rush’s release, Parker played numerous sold-out arenas including two nights at the Los Angeles Forum. The Slow Rush’s lead track Borderline is certified gold in Australia and Lost In Yesterday currently sits top 10 at Alternative Radio and top 5 at AAA at US radio. Parker also recently collaborated with Mike Skinner on The Streets track, Call My Phone Thinking I’m Doing Nothing Better. Together with Oneohtrix Point Never, he contributed to The Weeknd’s latest album, After Hours, also released earlier this year. Last month, Tame Impala’s previous album, Currents crossed 2.5 million sales worldwide, with lead single The Less I Know The Better taking out the #1 position on triple j’s Hottest 100 of the Decade.
Tame Impala’s rescheduled tour will commence at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Saturday 5 December and continue through Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
