to the Limestone Coast!

On Saturday 27th June, Coonawarra Bush Holiday Park hosted a small outdoor live concert for a privileged group of punters. Local Mt Gambier band, Wize, fronted by Roger Watson played their popular repertoire of Classic Rock covers. This was the first public live music event in The Limestone Coast, South Australia since COVID restrictions began.

The members of Wize are well known in the region and have been a big part of the local music scene for decades. Front man Roger Watson is the powerhouse behind the band and is well supported by Dave Jenkin on bass, Mark Moffatt on lead guitar and ‘Kelpie’ on drums. Wendy Roeters recently joined the band and brought a welcome contribution of keys, sax and flute.

Steve of The Coonawarra Holiday Park hosted Saturday night’s live music event. The crowd was predominantly guests at the park, but a selection of locals helped make the night great fun. Fire buckets were dotted around the Park aiding the social distancing rules as well as keeping people warm on a chilly winter night.

Sounds of The Stones, Hendrix, Free, Cream, The Doors, Santana, Garry Moore and the like filled our hearts and got us singing along and dancing. It was a very welcome return to live music. Can’t wait for more.
