Well hullo there! Bruno Brayovic here, under my Buddy Glass musical nom de plume. It’s been a while hasn’t it? It was 2014 when I released my debut album. And now here we are in 2020, on our way to peak-dystopia and I’ve decided it’s a good idea to put out a new single. Genius. For the uninitiated, let me quickly bring you up to speed in the manner of one of those recaps you see on TV.
I’ve been in Sydney band Peabody for 26 years. We’ve made 5 albums, played the Big Day Out a couple of times and toured all over Australia and overseas. We’re still together; just a little slower, dimmer.
I released my debut solo album, Buddy Glass in 2014 on China Pig Records. I wrote it in France over the course of a year and played heaps of shows over there, here in Australia and even one of the last shows at legendary New York venue, Cake Shop before it closed down. I played with The Stranglers, Kristin Hersh and Ocean Colour Scene as well as heaps of my favourite local ratbags like Ben Salter and Jamie Hutchings. I once supported Mexrissey – a Mexican mariachi band doing The Smiths songs in Spanish. Weird.

This is the first single from my forthcoming, second album Wow & Flutter. I recorded the vast majority of the album on 4-track cassette in the back room of my house in Marrickville, in between dogs barking and babies crying – but this track was done on a digital 8-track machine I’ve had for over 20 years.
It’s a song about knowing the outcome of a situation before it happens, but nothing you try to say or do stops you from taking the steps necessary to fulfil that outcome, even when that means a raw deal for everyone involved. It’s like being in a car crash but also witnessing it from the outside. It’s essentially about determinism over free will. The video clip features me flailing and dancing around in a cat mask in a David Lynch-style room. My friend said it was like Ian Curtis trying to dance like Peter Garrett. I hope that’s accurate.
Wasted Habit is out NOW on all the streaming services on Glass Half Empty Records.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
