Singles Chartifacts:
#1: Jawsh 685 x Jason Derulo ‘Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)’ – ‘Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)’ by Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo notches up its sixth week at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart. The track breaks the record for the most weeks at #1 on the chart by a New Zealand artist, taking over from OMC’s ‘How Bizarre’ (#1 Apr. ’96).
#2: Cardi B Feat. Megan Thee Stallion ‘WAP’ – American rapper Cardi B takes out her first Top Ten entry as a lead artist with ‘WAP’. The Megan Thee Stallion-featured track is the first to come from Cardi B’s forthcoming second album, the follow-up to Invasion Of Privacy (#5 Apr. ’18). Cardi B last charted with ‘Please Me’ (#22 Feb. ’19). ‘WAP’ takes over from ‘I Like It’ (#14 Jul. ’18) as her highest-charting single.
#8: Juice WRLD Feat. The Weeknd ‘Smile’ – The late Juice WRLD scores a third entry in this week’s Top 50 as ‘Smile’ debuts at #8. Featuring The Weeknd, the track is a part of an updated version of the rapper’s #1 album Legends Never Die (#1 Jul. ’20) that was released on the same day as the single. This week Juice WRLD also sits at #9 with ‘Come & Go’ and #20 with ‘Wishing Well’.
#10: Pop Smoke ‘Mood Swings’ – Jumping 24 spots in its second week in the Top 50, ‘Mood Swings’ becomes the late Pop Smoke’s first Top Ten single on the ARIA Charts. It takes over from ‘The Woo’ (#18 Aug. ’20) as his highest chart peak. Both tracks come from the former #1 album Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon (#1 Jul. ’20).
#11: Joel Corry, MNEK ‘Head & Heart’ – After debuting at #20 last week, British producers Joel Corry and MNEK climb nines spots to hit #11 with ‘Head & Heart’. The single has spent three straight weeks at #1 in the UK.
#34: Amy Shark ‘Everybody Rise’ – As it spends its sixth week in the Top 50, Amy Shark’s ‘Everybody Rise’ returns to its previous peak, reached in late-July. The ARIA-winning singer-songwriter recently performed the track at the Sydney Opera House for The Sound.
#48: Sia ‘Together’ – Australian artist Sia makes her first appearance in the ARIA Top 50 in two years with ‘Together’. The track comes from the soundtrack to forthcoming film Music, which Sia has written and directed. It’s her first chart entry since the collaboration with David Guetta, ‘Flames’ (#19 May ’18) and her first solo entry since ‘Never Give Up’ (#29 Feb. ’17).

Albums Chartifacts:
#1: Taylor Swift ‘folklore’ – For the third straight week, Taylor Swift holds #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with folklore. The third week at #1 coincides with the album’s release on CD. It becomes the only ARIA #1 album of 2020 to hold the top spot for more than two weeks.
#2: Luke Bryan ‘Born Here Live Here Die Here’ – Luke Bryan scores his third Top Ten on the ARIA Albums Chart as he releases Born Here Live Here Die Here. The American country star’s seventh studio album comes three years on from What Makes You Country (#6 Dec. ’17). It takes over from Kill The Lights(#4 Aug. ’15) as Bryan’s highest-charting album in Australia.
#3: In Hearts Wake ‘Kaliyuga’ – Byron Bay’s In Hearts Wake take out their fourth career Top Ten with Kaliyuga. Coming three years on from Ark (#3 Jun. ’17), it’s the metalcore band’s fifth studio album. Kaliyuga features guest appearances by Jamie Hails of fellow metalcore band Polaris, Randy Reimann of Sydney hardcore veterans Massappeal and Australian actress Georgia Flood. To date, In Hearts Wake’s highest chart appearance was with Skydancer(#2 May ’15). Kaliyuga tops this week’s Vinyl Albums and Australian Artist Albums charts.
#6: Glass Animals ‘Dreamland’ – British band Glass Animals return with Dreamland, their first album in four years. The third album from the group becomes their first appearance in the ARIA Top Ten, having previously charted with How To Be A Human Being (#11 Sept. ’16) and Zaba (#12 Jun. ’14). The single ‘Tokyo Drifting’ features American rapper Denzel Curry.
#13: Deep Purple ‘Whoosh!’ – Hard rock icons Deep Purple release their 21st studio album Whoosh! The album is the follow-up to Infinite (#20 Apr. ’17) and is the fifth album by the band’s current line-up, also known as Deep Purple Mark VIII. It features a re-working of the track ‘And the Address’, which featured on the band’s 1968 debut album Shades Of Deep Purple.
#22: Bronson ‘Bronson’ – Australian deep house DJ/producer Golden Features and American electronic music duo Odesza join forces as Bronson and release their debut self-titled album. After sharing tracks over the internet, the trio recorded the album in Berry, NSW over a week in 2018. Golden Features previously charted with SECT (#11 Aug. ’18) and Odesza charted with A Moment Apart (#13 Sept. ’17).
#23: Stand Atlantic ‘Pink Elephant’ – Sydney pop punk band Stand Atlantic make their ARIA Albums Chart debut with Pink Elephant. The second studio album from the four-piece comes two years on from their debut Skinny Dipping. It has debuted at #3 on this week’s ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart.
#25: sleepmakeswaves ‘These Are Not Your Dreams’ – Sydney’s sleepmakeswaves bring together their three most recent EPs for These Are Not Your Dreams. The collection includes tracks released on No Safe Place (May), Out Of Hours (June) and Not An Exit (July). It’s the post-rock band’s first chart entry since Made of Breath Only (#15 Apr. ’17).
#33: Teeny Tiny Stevies ‘Thoughtful Songs For Little People’ – The Teeny Tiny Stevies hit the Albums Chart Top 50 for the first time with Thoughtful Songs For Little People. The third album from the Melbourne children’s music duo is the follow-up to 2018’s Helpful Songs For Little People, which was nominated for an ARIA Award in the same year.
