Following on from the success of ‘Little Things’, with now over 23million worldwide streams and accredited Platinum, Mauboy wrote ‘Butterfly’ as a dedication to her parents. The song reflects on the metamorphosis of life, her personal journey of growth, and self-discovery. She explains, “’Butterfly’ was also about how they inspire me to be the best person I can be, to be just like them – resilient and strong and brave and always thinking of others. No one writes songs about family and it can be tough to be direct and not be cliché. That was the tug of war I’ve had in my mind.”

Throughout August, YouTube Music, in partnerships with ARIA, are rolling out a series of virtual performances across August called the “YouTube Sessions” to help raise awareness for Support Act and to provide an avenue for artists to reach their fans during a time where live-gigs aren’t possible. Each week this month, an established artist will pair up with a developing artist for a virtual performance on YouTube. Wednesday night saw the launch of Jessica Mauboy supported by Emalia, which you can watch HERE and see a special performance of ‘Butterfly’.
Jessica will also be performing ‘Butterfly’ on ABC TV’s The Sound, this Sunday 16th August from 5:30pm.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
