With 25 years of music industry experience that spans playing in bands, working in radio, booking venues, curating events and festival and most recently seven years working as an agent with Mushroom Group at Premier Artists, Sean Simmons is launching Press Play Presents, a new independent Australian touring agency.
Press Play will be home to an enviable roster of both local and international artists, including Mick Harvey (Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, PJ Harvey), Black Cab, Cash Savage & The Last Drinks, The Scientists, Cookin’ on 3 Burners, Kid Congo & the Pink Monkey Birds (Nick Cave, The Cramps, Gun Club), Lydia Lunch, Freya Josephine Hollick, Mick Thomas and more.
“It’s really exciting to finally be launching and can’t wait to continue working with these artists I love so much and admire. I guess if we can get through a pandemic, we can get through anything” says Sean.
In 2017, Sean stepped in to be Head of Programming for the Leaps & Bounds Music Festival.
Set across multiple venues in the City of Yarra, he reprised the role for the 2020 instalment moving to an online format due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
