Today, rising Glaswegian star Joesef reveals the soul stirring official video for new single I Wonder Why featuring the acclaimed UK hip-hop artist Loyle Carner.

Premiered via RUSSH, the visual accompaniment for I Wonder Why, expertly conveys the intimacy and stillness of our surroundings, especially when one’s mental state may be in flux. “The song is about the slow burn of heartache, and the cyclical nature of losing someone and trying to forget about it”, says Joesef.  “I wanted the video to feel intimate, and for it to be shot in a bedroom with the idea of your room reflecting your mental state. Molly Burdett captured this perfectly by introducing a hot to cold transition. It really helped bring the room to life with these subtle touches,” he adds.

I Wonder Why is yet another lustrous, self-produced offering from Joesef, recorded in the intimate confines of his Glasgow apartment. Loyle Carner’s additional verse perfectly melds the contours of the song forming a flawless collaboration.

The new single follows on from Joesef’s recent tracks The Sun Is Up Forever, Think That I Don’t Need Your Love and his debut EP Play Me Something Nice which have seen him garner praise from the likes of Vogue, i-D, NME and Clash as well as selling out venues across the venues across Europe and the UK.
