Following a string of well received releases over the past three years, Sydney based independent alternative-pop songstress Azure, is an artist on the move.

Her recent release ‘Bad’ just spent 12 weeks in the Triple J Unearthed charts, following it’s release in May.

Tonight, ‘Bad’ will feature in an episode of Channel 7’s Home & Away.

The track, penned by the 23 year old and produced by ARIA award winning producer Peter Holz (Peking Duk, Vance Joy, Eskimo Joe) is a fresh sounding alternative-pop love song, delivered with a twist of spite.

‘Bad’ is an ode to those who’ve ever fallen into a one-sided relationship and is rapidly picking up playlist additions on Spotify.

“I wanted to get my toes wet, write music that I was passionate about and wait till I knew people were connecting with it before diving in the deep end, but now we are here,” says Azure about ‘Bad.’

Azure recently followed up ‘Bad’ with her new single ‘Talk,’ which is spending it’s fourth week on the Unearthed charts, giving Azure 16 consecutive weeks on the all-genre chart.

‘Talk’ deals with the ever-prevalent issue of mental health mixed up with sexual desire in a tongue and cheek manner as Azure makes light of her own battles of the mind during a toxic relationship.

“I wanted to write a song that dealt with the turmoils of the mind when there is nothing left to say! The mood swings, the ridiculous thoughts, the highs, the lows and the sheer desire for passion.’

Azure has struggled with mental health issues all her life. Her mother died at an early age and her father was absent for most of her teen years.

She has had to battle, not only solitude, but the anxieties and depression that came with it and has come out the other side as a strong and independent young woman.

Azure’s debut single achieved US Billboard Dance chart Top 20 status and she recently became a member of the Converse X All star team, an initiative by the global shoe brand to support exciting new talent on a global stage.

‘Bad’ and ‘Talk’ are now available now on all digital platforms.
