Much loved Sydney house duo Yolanda Be Cool recently delivered ‘No More Sorrow’, an uplifting, dance-floor ready re-work of Irma Thomas’ 1964 classic hit. Today, the duo follow up the release with an avant-garde video clip, created by Sydney-based directors Rob Norman (World Surfing League, Red Bull) and Nick Sullivan (Boy George, Sweater Curse). The rapid-cut video draws on themes from post-dramatic theatre, uses eclectic props, and stars Andrew Stanley (of Yolanda Be Cool) who is in a world of his own. Making the video clip more compelling are various nuances, with the picture frames and statues coming to life and Andy’s head blowing off.

Nick Sullivan discusses the artistic intention for the clip, “We wanted to show a man trying to overcome his inner turmoil with the help of his shoulder angel (Michael Gislaine) in a quirky and hypnotic way. It’s all too late though and he’s ‘left town’ so to speak, all alone with no more sorrow. We also wanted to emphasize movement in every shot to complement the upbeat track and make you want to move/dance.”

Respected for their creative use of samples, Yolanda Be Cool have served up non-stop grooves since their success with their worldwide number 1 hit ‘We No Speak Americano’. Innumerable recently, they have continued to impress fans with releases such as ‘Space Jam’, ‘Dance and Chant’ and ‘No More Sorrow’ all which have received radio support from a range of radio stations across the globe, including Double J, KCRW (US), BBC Radio 1 and Kiss FM in the UK. Now the duo exhibit their lively personalities through this new video-clip.
