October 23! That’s the date. Mark it in your diary. Ball Park Music will release album #6, their self-titled opus on October 23. To celebrate, the band have announced they will be taking up residency at Brisbane venue The Triffid for a series of shows that will treat fans to a very special live experience like no other with the first show, on October 23, to be live-streamed nationally.
The band will play five shows over three days, performing unique set-lists every night and letting fans experience cuts from the new record as well as hits and deep dives from across their beloved six-album catalogue.
While the band squeeze over a decade of unforgettable sing-alongs in one show, The Triffid will be transformed into a very different setting to make these shows the ultimate Ball Park Music experience. Fans can expect a trip down memory lane with relics of past shows draped throughout the venue while they’re sippin’ on signature cocktail ‘The BPM’ and their special brew ‘Ball Park’s Shitty Beer’ to wash down snacks like ‘The Ball Park Butty’ chip roll. The band have also grown very fond of Prawn Records HQ so they’ll be bringing their studio to The Triffid where guests may recognise the comforting and warm decor from their live renditions of ‘Spark Up!’, ‘Day & Age’ and their latest single ‘Cherub’

A completely unique live experience, fans are able to purchase tables with seating for 4, 6 or 9 friends to watch the show. A small number of single tickets are also available for each show. All punters will be enjoying the convenience of table-service booze whilst kicking back and watching their favourite band. It really is a Ball Park Music takeover and we are here for it.
Live music is even more of a luxury than it was before. While tickets are limited for the residency, Ball Park Music have made sure that fans outside of Brisbane will not go without and will be live-streaming the very first show on album release day, 9pm AEDT Friday October 23 nationally. Sharing this special moment with Australia will be sweet relief for fans who have been missing their legendary live shows. They really are one of those bands that feels like everyone’s best friends and somehow their music seems both poignant and timeless, engaging fans young and old.
‘Ball Park Music’ was recorded and produced in its entirety by the band at their Brisbane studio over the Summer of 2019/20, in much the same fashion as predecessors ‘Good Mood’ and ‘Puddinghead’. This time around though, the band has taken their autonomy and self-reliance to the next level, choosing to release the record on their own new imprint, Prawn Records. The band have also spearheaded the visual accompaniments and artworks across the record, delving deeper into their creative processes and allowing them to make an album that is the true embodiment of what Ball Park Music is about – no matter what you are going through, no matter where you are you are not alone and you are so deeply loved.
Ball Park Music – The Triffid Residency goes on sale 9am Tuesday September 29 and you can sign up for tickets here
