“I’ve always just been…different. Maybe that’s why I often hear, “We don’t know what to do with you.” Boring is not in my DNA nor my music, and I consider that a blessing.” – Lisa Goe
Have you always wanted to be a musician?
I was always musical, but never saw it as a career until I acknowledged it could be one.
When did you get the song writing bug?
Since I was young, I would climb up on a bird aviary my dad built, and I’d write poetry and doodle photos. It was my little escape. It wasn’t until later in life, I had a friend recognize my poems could be songs. She taught me how to play the guitar, and I started writing for fun. Then, I started playing local bars and venues, which took me to Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles, and later on the road with my friend who taught me a lot of what I know now about Songwriting. She’s now Katy Perry, and I can attest, she worked hard to get where she is. I’m still so proud of her, and no we don’t get to see each other as often as we used to. The love is still there, and I’m forever grateful to her friendship and her belief in me to pursue music.
How would you describe your sound?
My Sound definitely hints at many of my influences. Jazz, Hip Hop, R&B, Gospel, as well as sounds / bands I’ve heard throughout my travels. A group I’ve really been listening to this 2020 is anything by Polo and Pan. It’s just fun, bizarre, you don’t have to think too hard. It’s a vibe.
Why do you think people resonate with your music?
I think people resonate with my music, because it’s relatable. I’d hope that’s why they resonate with it. That or they like a touch of different. I like variety:)

Which artist’s music and/or performance, past or present, inspires you today?
Today it’s Beck, but tomorrow it might be Sade, and another day it may be my favorite local Nashville band Luthi. What they have in common is their attitude on a stage, and the way they captivate an entire room/ arena. Garth Brooks is also an Artist, I was able to witness “wow” a crowd in the middle of a massive field and across a bridge!!! Their songs, even more so, share incredible stories of Love, Nonsense, Heartache, Politics, they all have a voice. I like that.
Your new single has just been released! Describe its origin and evolution.
It started unexpectedly. I went over to my friend’s airbnb to listen back to some songs we worked on during the week with a Swedish Country Singer, Jake Lindholm. Andreas Eriksson, the producer of the song, was playing on his guitar this little guitar lick, and I couldn’t help but start writing to it. It happened quickly, and after a few swift hours the song was complete. Andreas took the song back with him to Budapest to build out the production some more, and the rest is history.
The decision to release under my own name rather than try and pitch to another artist, was based-off recognizing I wanted to stop hiding music from the public. I have loads of songs that are not yet released. With Andreas encouragement, and me itching to put out music,we decided to put it out. We waited till now, because honestly when we originally were going to release in April/ May attention needed to be elsewhere.
Is there an EP or Album on the drawing board?
As of now, no plan to release a Lisa Goe ep, however working at releasing new music with my Production Partner Greg Carrillo. Greg and I have been close musical friends for over 8 years. He has been playing with Country Artist, Brett Eldridge, for some time, and with the pandemic, Greg had some time off the road. We did what creatives do best, create, and now we have a handful of songs we are ecstatic to share.
What’s ahead for Lisa Goe Solo, are a few songs written by myself and a few co-writers, but released by some notable artists :) No release date yet, otherwise I’d spill the beans:) We will have to do an Update when I receive more information!!
I would like to release a song I’ve been putting off under Lisa Goe, however for the time being I’d like to enjoy the “I Got Mine” wave.
If you could perform with any music artist, Alive or Dead, who would you choose? And why?
Oh Dolly Parton. Easy Peas. I mean there are plenty I’d love to perform with, Kygo being one of them, and Frank Sinatra another. But Dolly just seems like she would be fun to be on stage with.

Do you have any long-term aspirations as a music artist?
I’ve loved being a songwriter. I have been working independently as a songwriter, building my team slowly but surely, but what I aspire the most is to have a team I trust, that could alleviate some of the independent aspects. The pitching, setting up writes, admin, etc, is all enjoyable, and has its place ,but I would LOVE and I aspire to just CREATE MUSIC.
Finally, a few questions for some quick answers –
FAVOURITE:
Album – Today: Jagged Little Pill : Alanis Morissette. Tomorrow: The Killers…more a day to day mood thing:)
Artist – Currently Dua Lipa. I just like her song choices. Honest, and with the exception of a few songs, lyrically they’re usually what I wanted to say but her and her co-writers smashed it. I also just like her attitude. Others are SIA / GAGA / GOTYE / ROBYN
Movie – The Night We Never Met . It’s a rom com not many have probably even heard of . It’s not mind blowing or anything. Just a great Rom Com with a twist. Movie I’m in LOVE with currently is Bloody Nose, Empty Pockets. WOW. A MUST SEE IF YOU ENJOY WATCHING HOW PEOPLE INTERACT!
Place to visit – Italy
Venue to play – Hotel Cafe Los Angeles
Food – Favorite.
Drink – Depends on what happened that day.
Person in History – CHANEL
Tattoo – (If you don’t have one, what would you get?) I don’t have one, but I almost got A heart on my butt cheek… like a care bear.
