Praise for SARAH WOLFE

“Sydney-born 22-year-old Sarah Wolfe is a musician among this collection of 2019 pop forces we’re keeping an eye on entering the year ahead, marking her place in the local pop canon… [Devil U Know] is too good of a song to say that  Sarah Wolfe isn’t going to be carrying Australian pop’s rising scene on her shoulders in the year ahead.” – PileRats

“There’s a big brigade of Aussie women making smart pop to move you in all sorts of ways and we can add Sarah Wolfe to the list as of right now.” – triple j’s Declan Byrne

“It is clear this is a new artist who has something very special indeed.” – Women In Pop

“‘Devil U Know’ is a fantastic insight to Sarah Wolfe’s promising future as a pop star.” – Futuremag Music

Sydney singer/songwriter Sarah Wolfe will release her fourth official single “I’ll Never Be Happy Again” on Friday, October 16th, 2020. The track serves as the follow-up to Wolfe’s previous release “100 Times,” which featured fellow indie musicians The Flowers.

Written alongside producer and real-life partner Xavier Dunn (Peking Duk, Jack River, CXLOE, Graace), “I’ll Never Be Happy Again” details the emotional aftermath of a breakup as Sarah alternates between soft vocals and screams over a reverb-heavy guitar. Sonically, the track is reminiscent of Bleachers, infusing punk with mainstream pop in a way that is simultaneously catchy and cathartic.

“I’ll Never Be Happy Again” is one of the first songs I wrote where I finally felt comfortable in my own sound.” said Sarah.  “It is loosely about a relationship that went wrong, but the more overarching theme for me is anxiety; how my head always makes things out to be far worse and far more dramatic than the situation actually is. I love how the lyrics play out over such a high energy soundtrack, I wanted this to be the point of hope in the song, a reminder that things do usually end up being ok. This song is as ridiculous as my own fears are sometimes!”

After three years of cutting her teeth in music journalism behind the scenes, Sarah Wolfe’s probing and grounded pop is ready to take the world by storm. “I’ll Never Be Happy Again” follows up successful solo efforts “Devil U Know” and “U Think This Is A Game?”, as well as “100 Times (feat. The Flowers)” and a cover of “I Think We’re Alone Now”, a collaborative cover with her partner Xavier Dunn, which was hand picked by US star Normani for her workout playlist on Spotify.

Each release has brought Wolfe closer to the forefront of Australia’s pop scene, garnering praise from triple j, Tone Deaf, PileRats, Women In Pop, as well as music video additions to MTV. In July 2020, Wolfe opened for Lime Cordiale at the Oxford Art Factory in Sydney for their official album launch tour.  The multi-talented singer songwriter is making promising strides towards stardom.

“I’ll Never Be Happy Again” is available to stream on all platforms now.
