Sydney indie-pop quartet The Flowers continue their grand entrance into the Aussie music scene, unveiling their latest single “Wore It Like I Stole It”; a track that perfectly couples sensitive lyricism with boisterous sounds.
Frontwoman Agnes O’Dwyer gives us another slice of her powerfully brilliant vocal range, backed by equally dexterous band, including drummer Leighton Cauchi, guitarist Liam Sinclair and bassist Tom Haeusler. Together the four are keeping the indie realm on their toes, exhibiting their introspective messages and stylistic harmonies, fundamental to the alt-pop ethos.

“Wore It Like I Stole It is about keeping your guard up” said Aggy. “Being ‘guarded’ is often painted in a bad light. It’s seen as cold and distant, but this song talks about how protecting your heart and keeping your walls up isn’t always such a bad thing. The song is also about the process of growing your self confidence – how sometimes you feel like strutting your stuff and “wearing” your confidence for the world to see and other times you’re self conscious and overthinking.”
The Flowers have been a constant force since their debut, pulling off not one but two song additions to the triple J rotation, their debut single “Truly Madly Sleepy” and recent release “You Don’t Say!”.
Their recent collaboration with fellow indie pop maven Sarah Wolfe, “100 Times”, was added to rotation on triple j Unearthed and received praise from NME, Music Feeds, Women In Pop, Thomas Bleach and more.
The band have also opened up for Jess Day, Great Gable and Timi Temple, headlined at Sydney’s Vic on the Park and Golden Age, landed themselves in the top 50 most played artists on triple j Unearthed, and surpassed 300,000 streams on Spotify – all in just over a year!
Excitingly, they are also set to share the stage with Yorke on Thursday 19th November at The Lansdowne in Sydney, and an intimate gig with Clews and Egoism on Friday 4th December at The Vanguard in Sydney.
In 2020, The Flowers have been busying themselves in the studio with producer PeterHolz (Peking Duk, Vance Joy) to complete their debut EP, set for release in early 2021.
“Wore It Like I Stole It” is available to stream on all platforms now.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
