Singles Chartifacts: 

#1: 24kGoldn Feat. Iann Dior ‘Mood’ – After two weeks at #2, 24kGoldn’s ‘Mood’ returns to #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart for a fifth week. The track was accredited 2x Platinum in Australia this week. To date, ‘Mood’ has spent a total of three weeks at #1 in the US, one week at #1 in the UK and four weeks at #1 in New Zealand.

#5: Pop Smoke ‘What You Know Bout Love’ – Moving up two spots to #5 in its sixth week in the Top 50, ‘What You Know Bout Love’ matches ‘Mood Sings’ (#5 Sept. ’20) as Pop Smoke’s highest ARIA Singles Chart peak.

#7: The Kid Laroi ‘So Done’ – On the back of the release of F*ck Love (Savage), The Kid Laroi’s ‘So Done’ hits #7, becoming the Sydney hip hop artist’s first Top Ten entry. The lead single from the deluxe edition of F*ck Love(#3 Aug. ’20) – titled F*ck Love (Savage) – jumps up nine spots in its third week in the Top 50. Two more tracks from the reissue have hit the chart this week: ‘Always Do’ (#37) and ‘Tragic’ (#41).

#10: Dua Lipa ‘Levitating’ – In its fifth week in the Top 50, Dua Lipa’s ‘Levitating’ cracks the Top Ten at #10. It becomes the fourth Top Ten single from the British artist’s second album Future Nostalgia (#1 Apr. ’20) after ‘Don’t Start Now’ (#2 Feb. ’20), ‘Physical’ (#9 Apr. ’20) and ‘Break Your Heart’ (#7 Apr. ’20).

#12: Miley Cyrus ‘Midnight Sky’ – Miley Cyrus’ ‘Midnight Sky’ climbs 13 spots in its 13th week in the chart to hit a new peak at #12, four spots above its previous peak. The move comes on the back of the release of a remix of the song featuring Stevie Nicks titled ‘Edge of Midnight (Midnight Sky Remix)’; a mashup of ‘Midnight Sky’ and Nicks’ 1982 hit ‘Edge of Seventeen’.

Albums Chartifacts:

#1: Kylie Minogue ‘DISCO’ – Australian pop icon Kylie Minogue scores her seventh #1 album on the ARIA Albums Chart as she debuts in the top spot with DISCO. The ARIA Hall Of Fame member’s fifteenth studio album comes two years on from Golden (#1 Apr. ’18). DISCO was partially recorded by Minogue in her home studio during the UK’s first period of COVID-19 lockdown, resulting in her being credited as an engineer for the first time on one of her albums. The album has also debuted at #1 on the ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart this week.

Kylie Minogue has also previously hit #1 with the albums Light Years (#1 Oct. ’00), Fever (#1 Oct. ’01), X (#1 Dec. ’07), Kiss Me Once (#1 Mar. ’14) and Step Back In Time: The Definitive Collection (#1 Jul. ’19).

DISCO is the 15th Australian #1 album on the ARIA Charts in 2020.

#3: The Kid Laroi ‘F*ck Love (Savage)’ – Moving up from #29, The Kid Laroi’s ARIA-nominated mixtape F*ck Love returns to its previous peak Top Ten at #3 on the back of the release of a deluxe edition, F*ck Love (Savage). The new edition features seven additional tracks including ‘So Done’ (#7 Nov. ’20), which has hit the Top Ten for the first time this week. The Kid Laroi is nominated for Best Male Artist, Best Hip Hop Release and Breakthrough Artist at the 2020 ARIA Awards.

#7: Little Mix ‘Confetti’ – British girl group Little Mix return with sixth album, Confetti. The follow-up to LM5 (#8 Nov. ’18) becomes the quartet’s sixth Top Ten entry on the ARIA Albums Chart. They’ve previously peaked at #2 with both Get Weird (#2 Nov. ’15) and Glory Days (#2 Nov. ’16).

#13: Brad Cox ‘My Mind’s Projection’ – Releasing My Mind’s Projection, Brad Cox makes his Top 50 debut. The Jindabyne-born and raised country singer-songwriter’s second album follows his self-titled debut album, which was released in April 2018. Also in 2018, Cox won the Toyota Star Maker competition at the Tamworth Country Music Festival.

#14: Troy Cassar-Daley ‘Christmas For Cowboys’ – Country singer-songwriter Troy Cassar-Daley releases Christmas For Cowboys, his first new studio album in four years. The album includes 10 festive songs including two original tracks, and a duet with Cassar-Daley’s daughter Jem. Troy Cassar-Daley’s last studio album was Things I Carry Around (#5 Sept. ’16). He’s since charted with the compilation Greatest Hits (#7 Oct. ’18).

#30: The Smith Street Band ‘Viva La Rev’ – Melbourne’s The Smith Street Band take out their third Top 50 entry for 2020 as they release new live album Viva La Rev. The album captures the band playing at Melbourne’s The Reverence Hotel in February 2019, their last performance at the venue before it closed its doors. The Smith Street Band also charted earlier in the year another live album, Live At The Triffid (#4 Mar. ’20), and they topped the chart with Don’t Waste Your Anger (#1 Apr. ’20).

#37: Ashton Irwin ‘Superbloom’ – 5 Seconds Of Summer drummer Ashton Irwin makes his first Top 50 appearance under his own name with Superbloom. Released in mid-October, Irwin’s his debut solo album has moved into the chart this week after its release on CD and vinyl. As a member of 5 Seconds Of Summer, Irwin topped the chart in April of this year with CALM (#1 Apr. ’20).
