Contemporary artist Elsen Price takes listeners on a surreal visual journey with his new album ‘The Life Long Day Dreamer’.

A lot more raw than his previous releases, ‘TLLDD’ was inspired by COVID lock-down. Elsen’s latest offering is about being forced to be silent and performing without limitations.

On the album, Elsen states, “This album had no preparation except I was going to play for two hours in front of a video camera and it was a brief moment to express myself during a global pandemic, it also doesn’t have any strong philosophical theme or message, but simply that of my imagination.”

“Given an artists most honest and powerful expression is from their imagination, this is a more honest and personal recording than my previous work. What you hear is exactly what I played, without any studio magic or over dubs.”

The album was part of a two hour performance Elsen did during lock-down, imagery that went through Elsen’s mind whilst playing involved flying lizards, clouds, monster bees and various scenarios. The lack of audience during the performance inspired him to find inspiration from within than of an audience, which is his usual routine when doing a long improvised performance.

Elsen Price is a contemporary artist based in Sydney, Australia. Using the world as his playground, Elsen makes timeless music that resonates with audiences on a deeper level. Elsen Price is an Australian Double Bassist who has been specialising in solo performance since 2012.

Growing up as a self taught musician in rural NSW, Elsen won his first professional audition in 2008 aged 18 to start his career in music. Elsen then won a scholarship to study at the Sydney Conservatorium in 2010 under the principal double bassists of the Sydney Symphony and the Australian Chamber Orchestra.

As a solo artist, Elsen has performed throughout Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Czech Republic, England and Scotland, featuring both as a main artist at festivals and a solo performer. Notable performance credits include multi grammy award winner Josh Groban (US), Mike Patton (Faith No More), Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth) plus world music legends Sharam Nazeri, ALireza Ghourbani and Adnan Karim.
