LISTEN TO “CITY” feat. REYKO
The people of Melbourne have shown resilience and strength as they battled through the world’s longest and toughest COVID lockdowns. A city that is known for its buzzing energy has been asleep for months, and in an ode to Australia’s hub of creativity, Julia Lostrom today releases her new song “City” with fellow Melbourne artist, REYKO!
Julia is known for harnessing her diverse cultural upbringing to inspire her fusion Lo-fi pop-electronic melodies and alternative R&B. In an apt celebration of culture, “City”, co-produced by Rob Amoruso (Kelly Rowland, Macy Gray, The Rubens) was penned in a coincidental gathering of like-minded creatives from a deep converting honouring Melbourne, its people and the inspirational energy that it is known for.
“This song came together purely by coincidence. I finished work late one night and went to hang out at my friend Holly’s house with some of the “New Wave infinity” crew which REYKO! and Rachael Vowles are both a part of,” tells Julia.

“We started talking about how lucky we are to live in Melbourne and be surrounded by such incredible people who constantly inspire us and make us want to be better and do better. We spoke about an idea to bring Melbourne creatives together and help each other out so we can show the world what this city has to offer. Holly has a studio in her space so we just started jamming for fun and after a few hours, City was born. A special night with special people, deep conversations and good vibes all around brought this song to life and we hope its essence will be translated through the airways once it’s out.”
Directed and shot by New Wave Infinity’s Rachael Vowles and co-shot with Anthony Lostrom, the stop-motion video opens with the iconic landscape of Melbourne’s city skyline – a sight that ignites excitement in visitors and pride within its residents. The video follows Julia and REYKO! journeying through the city, capturing moments that are quintessentially Melbourne.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
