LISTEN TO “THESE STREETS”
Kristy Apps is known for her rich, commanding vocals and driving guitar rhythms, and her latest single “These Streets” is exactly what fans have been eagerly awaiting.
Written on the streets of Berlin, “These Streets” came from a moment of absorbing the once war-torn city, appreciating the potency of the past and the power people had reclaimed.
“It’s hard to explain how connected I felt to myself in the streets of Berlin and how every thought felt like a possibility. I was inspired by the strength of the people and how through absolute adversity it became this creative, empowering and connected place,” tells Kristy of the song.
“There was something about Berlin that took me instantly. I walked for days absorbing the potency of the past and the power people had reclaimed. They were present in their politics, almost hyper-vigilant and it was exciting. Like anyone could make anything happen at any time. The streets had an ecosystem of their own, it was dirty and beautiful, distressing and hopeful and I felt like I belonged. It was a message that would inspire me and change me forever.”

Working with Toby Broughton, Kristy has visualised the track in a video that features scenes from her hometown of Brisbane in a concept that is really similar to the inspiration behind the song.
“The world is at crisis point at the moment and we really need to learn from the past and dig our heels in to make a stand for what kind of world we want. Our differences need to be celebrated and respected so we can all belong in these streets.”
Known for her charm of inviting listeners into her songs, Kristy’s songwriter sensibilities bring richness and purpose to the ugliness and difficulties of life, so its no surprise that “These Streets” came from a moment in time where she felt moved by Berlin’s people, its heritage and its unwavering strength.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
