Australian icon Mia Dyson is thrilled to be reissuing her ARIA Award-winning 2005 album Parking Lots on vinyl, celebrating the 15-year milestone release with an additional Parking Lots (Revisited) EP and 2021 East Coast Tour.
Heading back into the studio in 2020 to revisit five songs from the album, Mia’s Parking Lots (Revisited) EP sheds new light on a selection of her favourite cuts from the record. From beloved single ‘Roll Me Out’ to the stunning homage of motherly love on ‘Rivers Wide’, and the simple yet captivating title track to the empowering ‘Choose’ and heartbreaking ‘I Meant Something To You Once’, the EP captures the sheer musical mastery of an artist who continues to redefine the blues and roots genre, 15 years on, with the rest of her expansive career still to come.
“Some of my friends and I used to perform in a women’s prison in Western Melbourne. I got to know a few women quite well and over time they shared their stories with me. I wrote Roll Me Out thinking of the story of one woman in particular who had been incarcerated, and then fell in love with another prisoner.” – Mia Dyson

“I had my heart broken first not by a lover, but by a friend in high school. It stung a lot and a long time and eventually ended up in this song. Before, when we were about 13, my friend picked up the guitar and started writing. She inspired me to do the same and I’m eternally grateful.” – Mia Dyson
In her two-decade long career, Mia Dyson has been nominated for five ARIA Awards with Parking Lots taking out ‘Best Blues and Roots Album’ in 2005. She was the inaugural recipient of Double J’s Artist Of The Year at the 2014 J Awards following the release of her Australian classic LP Idyllwild, and has had four albums up for AIR Awards with The Moment earning her a nomination for ‘Song Of The Year’ at the 2013 APRA Awards. Mia Dyson’s extensive career has seen her support the likes of Stevie Nicks, Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt and Joe Cocker, and most recently touring extensively with her band Dyson Stringer Cloher. Now, the seasoned Australian artist is thrilled to be heading back on the road for a run of National live dates in 2021 across Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne, regional Victoria, Brisbane and Byron Bay for Bluesfest in her first live shows in 12 months. Tickets on sale now and in limited COVID capacities, so be sure to get in quick.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
