Yours and Owls 2021 is basically an episode of the live music industry’s version of Khloe Kardashian’s Revenge Body! We have had our heads down, planning teams out whipping our event into the shape of its life so we can fly through the hoops and bring you a show to remember and get revenge on this pandemic! We are ready for our big reveal….

This year we have a whole lotta housekeeping we need to go through before ya’ll arrive. Our 2021 event is going to roll a little different to previous years, but let’s face it, anything will be better than last year (LOL)! And not many people get to say they went to a music festival in the middle of a global pandemic, so let’s thank our lucky stars and do this!

We are stoked to be one of two major music festivals in NSW to get approval to go ahead thanks to our rigorous planning and can’t wait to share this, hopefully once in a lifetime experience with you guys!

First up, due to the border restrictions NZ indie-pop sensation BENEE and Dunedin genre-defying MC Wax Mustang are no longer able to make it. The soothing summer sounds of local favs Dope Lemon and Brisbane producer, rapper extraordinaire Nerve will step in to fill those respective slots. Also check out the line-up splits as we have made a few changes to who is playing when.

We have been working extra hard developing a mega COVID safety play book to ensure you are all well looked after while you party. To accommodate our COVID safe footprint, we have moved to a larger site, another beautiful green space in Wollongong Dalton Park, two mins down the road from our spiritual home of Stuart Park!

In an Australian first, we will be rolling out a revolving stage format with not one, but TWO revolving stages, record players and Lazy Susans, all your fav artists are ready to spin!

The site will be split into four separate zones to reduce risk, with the revolving stages smack bang in the middle. All festival patrons will have perfect view of the main stages from every zone. A state-of-the-art PA will ensure perfect sound to every corner of the site, and large LED screens will provide flawless close ups on your beloved acts. This will be the biggest production set up Yours and Owls has ever presented in the Gong!

Each zone will be self-contained with its own entry and exits, a smaller stage giving a secondary space to consume music, main bar, cocktail bar, dining area, hand-picked food stalls, toilets, water refill stations, phone charging, merch stores, hand sanitising stations and friendly COVID safety marshals to answer all of your questions when you arrive.

Our approval is the first step for our industry, we still have a long way to go to get back to the thriving live music scene we once knew. This year’s event is probably one of the most important we have staged, it is the first step in establishing that festivals can be run safely in NSW, so we need our patrons support to help open the door for a return of mass live music gatherings. Some FAQ’s:

How do I know what section I am in?
From today, March 24, you have 7 days to submit a request for your preferred zone via the Zone Preference Form
MOSHTIX ticket holders go here Zone Preference Form. 
Festicket ticket holders go here Zone Preference Form.

What if I got my ticket from Festicket?
Festicket and MOSHTIX customers will be re-issued new tickets from MOSHTIX (only). Any tickets pending resale at this time will be revoked from resale and those customers will receive new zoned tickets. Customers must disregard old tickets (no longer valid) and use their new zoned tickets.

What happens when I arrive at the festival?
Look at the event map and simply go to the allocated zone, they are colour coded so easy to find. One of the Yours and Owls crew will direct you to your seat. It’s just like going to the theatre, the footy, or a stadium rock show. And just like getting front row in the mosh, it will be first in best dressed as far as seat allocation is concerned.

How do I stay with my mates? 
Make sure you arrange to meet your mates prior and enter the site together. A crew that arrives together, sits together!

Can I go to another section?
No you can’t, you will need to remain in your section for the duration of the event.

Can I move around my section?
Yes you can! You will be able to move freely to make the most of the bars, food, merch and to check out acts on the smaller stage in your section.

What if I don’t like this format and don’t want to be a part of a once in a lifetime historical music festival event?
Your loss, but; you will have until midnight Tuesday March 30th, to request a refund via your ticket purchase point:

MOSHTIX  – login into your account and follow these steps. If you created your booking as a Guest, Sign Up here to register and access your tickets using the same email address that was used for the booking.

So it’s going to be Yours and Owls served with a twist, and two turn(tables) in 2021!

We are grateful to NSW Health and other stakeholders for their guidance and support. We will continue to work closely with them to ensure the event format is in line with what is required at the time we run, with patron and community safety as our number one priority.
