Fresh from four euphoric sold-out performances in Brisbane, today Holy Holy unveils the spectacular official video for How You Been via Wonderlick Recordings. In other celebratory news, their final and previously sold-out dates at Melbourne’s Forum on Friday 7 May will now be standing, with new tickets now available to the unmissable shows.
Directed by the acclaimed Claudia Sangiorgi Dalimore, the visual accompaniment for How You Been captures the uninhibited abandon of frontman Tim Carroll as he dances amongst the breathtaking landscape of Spring Bay Mill in Tasmania.
“Claudia and I are old friends and we’ve been cooking up an idea of a dancing clip for a while. I really enjoyed the process of making this video. Claudia was amazing in encouraging me to commit to the performance. I had to allow myself to let go and not worry too much about what I looked like. I wanted the performance to represent a kind of loose freedom, which relates to some of the themes in the song,” says Tim of the clip.
Claudia adds, “For a clip like this to come to fruition, a one shot performance, my job becomes part director and part comrade. I am a big fan of Tim’s, both on and off the stage. His love of dance is contagious. To me it’s important to encourage men to dance and feel free to express themselves through movement. I want to encourage that in all its myriad forms.”

Currently the fourth most played track on triple j, How You Been sees Tim Carroll and Oscar Dawson lean into their natural talents as storytellers, exploring life’s complexities through the lens of a broken heart. “It has a lot of the hallmarks of what we do. At the core of it, it’s a classic Holy Holy song in the sense that there’s real storytelling. Then there’s Oscar’s emotive chord progressions that subtly influence the way you feel. They feed into the lyrics. You don’t realise why, but you’re listening to the song and certain emotions come up,” Tim muses.
How You Been follows on from the urgent and ambitious Port Rd feat. Queen P, who has joined Holy Holy on their sold-out east coast tour.
Last week, Maybe You Know and Teach Me About Dying – the hit singles from their third studio album My Own Pool of Light achieved gold accreditation. This marks the band’s third gold single in the esteemed company of Sentimental and Monday and their runaway platinum single True Lovers.
With How You Been having existed solely in its studio form until this point, Holy Holy are excited to bring their latest effort to the live realm. Tim offers up a sly clue or two of what lies ahead. “There’s a whole bunch more work that we’ve done. I’m really excited about it. We’re pushing the band in a more kinetic direction” Tim explains. “I’m looking forward to people hearing it.”

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
