Have you always wanted to be a musician? When did you get the song writing bug?
I have always wanted to perform, however singing was the last piece of the puzzle in highschool. I was in a front women to my highschool rock band named “Skope” and this is where I got the song writing bug from. Being around the guys in the band and watching them create, started a fire that has never stopped.
Which artist’s music and/or performance, past or present, inspires you today?
Hands down, currently Australian Artist Ben Abraham with his song ‘War In Your Arms’. If you haven’t heard it, make sure you do, it’s a banger in every way it counts!
Your new single/ has just been released/! Describe its origin and evolution.
My latest album ‘pages from a past life’ is a lyrical and musical journey about love, loss, self talk, heartbreak, memories, broken promises and struggle… all pages from a past life.
The majority of the album is melancholy and evocative. Subsequently, as each new track unfolds, a new facet of romance is explored. Explosions of pop bring you back and between tracks, the inclusion of infectious outtakes and voice memos keep you close to the story and the listeners can sigh out some of the sheer intensity that continues to build throughout.
Is there an EP or Album on the drawing board?
I am in the middle of planning the next album, but for now, I am focused on having one hell of a national tour with my album ‘pages from a past life’.

Any tours or events coming up soon? What are you looking forward to, and what can the fans expect?
After postponing my tour in 2020 due to COVID-19, in June 2021 I am ready to embark on my ‘pages from a past life’ tour, travelling for 6 months and more than 25,000kms all around Australia in my converted Mercedes Sprinter van – VanNessa, and performing more than 35 shows in major cities as well as regional and remote locations.
The tour will showcase all the songs from my latest album ‘pages from a past life’ including a mesmerizing visual projection display. These songs are melded together into a slow moving musical movement allowing the audience to sit back, relax and let the music and the stories within the album wash over you.
Each week Alexis will be chatting to Will and Sandy on Western Oz at 88.5FM so that her fans and the public can get an insight into life on tour.
On top of the music, filmmaker Frankie Gray will be recording an inspiring and raw documentary, of my first national tour and exploring themes of heartbreak and growth, through my music journey.
Frankie has a passion for providing a platform for marginalised voices and particularly loves female-centric stories, which simultaneously illuminate issues and inspire hope.

What is the best thing about performing to a live audience? What’s been the career highlight so far?
By far, connecting with people. By sharing my stories, I open up the dialogue to talk and discuss subject matter that doesn’t always have space to be spoken about. I once was at a show where 3 women came up to me and said that after listening to me and my song (diamond) they now felt that they could deal with the engagement ring that they had at the bottom of their jewelry box. In my pain and heartbreak, I am still able to give someone else power and strength, what a gift that is. The power of music!
