The Whitlams’ new single “(You’re Making Me Feel Like I’m) 50 Again” is an upbeat reflection on life and love featuring playful Van Halen keyboard stabs and 70s guitar hooks and is accompanied by a video clip released today after premiering on ABC TV News Breakfast this morning.
Featuring the band recording at Rockinghorse Studio in the northern rivers hinterland, the clip also includes sweeping drone footage of the Byron Bay Mermaids – the Ladies Over 50s Ocean Swimming Club – churning through the open water under the iconic Byron Bay lighthouse.
Tim Freedman said, “I did the Bay swim with the girls a few years back, and they immediately came to mind when I started thinking about sporting teams that have an irrepressible energy that could cameo in the clip. Of course, they quickly became the stars.”
As one of Australia’s most successful live acts, The Whitlams will tour nationally again in August and September on their 46 show “Gaffage and Clink” Tour. The tour includes multiple shows in most locations and is nearly sold out.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
