It’s been a wild few years and this week GYROstream celebrates three years as an independently owned digital distribution company, now helping over 3,500 Aussie and Kiwi artists to ‘Get Your Record Out’ (GYRO) globally.
To celebrate, GYRO is hosting three days of giveaways for GYROstream account holders including festival tickets, headphones and free distribution all day Wednesday. It’s free to sign up at the GYROstream website.
Co-Director and CEO Andy Irvine says he’s proud of how the GYRO team has grown. “With just two full-time employees in 2018, our team is now 12 people strong with offices in Brisbane, Sydney and Perth,” he says. “It’s our staff who have been absolutely essential to the growth of our business. Without them we wouldn’t be able to provide essential premium support services to independent artists and their teams. They’ve been integral in helping artists navigate their release cycles during what has been an incredibly tough year for the music industry.”
In three years, GYROstream has distributed multiple ARIA certified Gold Records, ARIA and AIR Award Nominated releases, J-Award winners, triple j Hottest 100 winning tracks and Grammy-nominated producers. Andy Irvine says there are still plenty more goals to hit but the mission remains the same. “From day one we never wanted to just be a data delivery service. Our core values are simple, to assist and educate independent artists about effective release strategies to get the best results for their music,” he says.
2020 was also a year of innovation for GYROstream. Earlier this year GYROstream announced GYROsplits allowing collaborators to split their royalties automatically through the system, launched advanced royalties analytics and handy metadata search website findmyisrc.com. With a few more announcements in the pipeline for the second half of 2021, there’s a lot to look forward to.
