Australian producer Motez has garnered a fanbase across the globe for his expressive and purposeful approach to dance music, and now, the Adelaide-based producer impresses listeners with his new EP ‘ReSet’. The release follows up his 2020 EP ‘Soulitude’ which was a minimal, emotive and ambient style release that was positioned to help those who were struggling with the effects of the global pandemic. Whereas the new offering, ‘ReSet’ draws on elements of hard dance, dark synths and techno to create a piece of music that is a reflection of the world’s countries’ current state of frustration. Motez shares “This EP is about turning the page, it’s about change and how cathartic it can be even when you don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.”

This body of work features two previously released singles, the hypnotic electronic track – ‘Give Me Space’ featuring The Kite String Tangle and the title track, ‘ReSet’ which recently received a full addition to triple j, The Edge 96.1 and quickly skyrocketed up the Australian Top 100 Shazam chart, hitting #16. The EP includes three brand new offerings, ‘Synthesize’ another dark, party anthem, as well as ‘Gone’, featuring the vocals of Lauren L’aimant which are intertwined with 80s-inspired synths and techno production. To finish off this release is the fast-paced, uplifting dance track, aptly titled ‘New Day’, a song about letting it all go!
Motez elaborates on what inspired this body of work, “This release encompasses a year’s worth of music exploration while I was going through a lot of change personally, emotionally and musically. It’s a manifesto of a very turbulent year, almost like the dark sibling to last year’s ‘Soulitude’. While ‘Soulitude’ was a journey into emotions through the lens of the pandemic and the way we as humans grappled with this newfound sense of loneliness and isolation in a more contemplative way, ‘ReSet’ turns the dial the other way, it’s angry and rebellious, it taps into feelings of being bold and obnoxious. Like ‘Soulitude’, it still tackles sadness but in a much louder, and more defiant way.”
Sitting at the forefront of Australian dance music, Motez is renowned for his dance-floor hit singles ‘Down Like This feat. Tkay Maidza’ and the ARIA gold accredited record ‘The Future feat. Antony & Cleopatra’. The Adelaide based, Baghdad born producer continues to prove himself as an innovative dance producer with a string of club releases in 2019, ‘Where Have You Been’, and Toggle’, scoring Motez support from triple j, Kiss FM (UK) and KCRW (US). In 2020, Motez also showcased a different side of his sound with the release of ‘Soulitude’, an EP created during isolation, designed to bring his fans a sense of serenity and tranquility throughout the trying time. The EP took Motez to win best release, best music video and best electronic artist at the 2020 South Australian music awards.
Drawing an ever-growing fanbase, Motez has played some of the biggest festivals around the country including Splendour In The Grass, Beyond The Valley, and Lost Paradise. Outside of producing his own work, this dance music genuis has created official remixes for the likes of Goldlink, Disclosure and Ellie Goulding, earning him praise from dance icons such as Destructo, Justin Martin, Diplo and Flume. Coming on the live side, Motez is set to play two shows at the Sydney Opera House as part of Vivid in August.
‘ReSet’ EP is out now via Sweat It Out.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
