Today, Australia’s iconic rock band, INXS have made chart history and will celebrate an incredible milestone on their 44th anniversary.
‘INXS – The Very Best’ has cumulatively remained in the ARIA Top 100 albums chart for an astounding nine-year run (468 non-consecutive weeks) – more than any album in the current top 100; seven of those weeks have been spent at #1.
November 2020 saw the anthemic collection of hits officially reach “Diamond” status on the ARIA charts, the album was recognised for sales in excess of half a million units and was crowned the top Australian Album of the Decade.
ARIA CEO, Annabelle Herd: “Huge congratulations are in order for INXS, Petrol and UMG after achieving the ARIA Diamond Award for The Very Best Of. It comes as no surprise that the pinnacle of record accreditation has been achieved by one of the country’s most adored and iconic acts. On behalf of ARIA, and as a lifelong fan, I want to thank INXS for their immense contribution to Australian music and their significant role in skyrocketing our industry’s recognition on the global stage.”
INXS are the only band ever to have spent more cumulative weeks than any other album in the current ARIA Top 100 album chart (dated Friday 13th August). This is a superb accomplishment for INXS with the success of the album largely credited to the # 1 rating television mini-series, “Never Tear Us Apart” -Executive Producers, Petrol Records Chairman, Chris Murphy and Tim Farriss.
As a result of INXS’s timeless music being heavily featured in the show, it resulted in the band achieving Australian chart history with 6 albums in the Top 10 including the # 1 and # 2 albums on the ARIA Chart in the same week with The Very Best holding the # 1 spot and going on to be the Best Selling album of 2014.
“It is truly amazing news, to hear INXS’s The Very Best has been in the Top 100 album charts for 9 years. Such an incredible legacy for this album, for INXS, for INXS’ timeless song catalogue and for Chris Murphy’s stellar work with Petrol & the Universal teams.
To achieve such an accolade alongside my brothers, Tim, Jon, Kirk, Garry and our dearly missed mate Michael, we are humbled by this news and especially thank all INXS fans for your passionate support, we are all deeply grateful.” ~ Andrew Farriss

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
