Today, Fortnite has announced they will be bringing global artists & music to the Metaverse with the Soundwave Series – a new celebration of breakout music and artists from around the world.
Following on from the release of her debut chart-topping album WELCOME TO THE MADHOUSE earlier this year, Australia’s own Tones And I will join a line-up that also features some of the most exciting talent from right around the globe.
Building on the success of iconic Fortnite music experiences like the Rift Tour and Astronomical, each Soundwave Series artist will have their own unique interactive experience to accompany their musical set in game. Speaking to her inclusion, Tones comments “I’ve been working with the Fortnite team for the Soundwave Series and it’s gonna be sick!”
The first show of the Fortnite Soundwave Series begins Friday October 1 at 2PM ET | Saturday October 2 at 4am AEST. About TONES AND I
Originally from Australia’s Mornington Peninsula, Tones And I travelled to Byron Bay in early 2018 to take a chance at busking. On the first day she had crowds spilling onto the street. Tones quit her retail job and decided to make Byron her new home where she lived out of her van for a year, honing her song writing and busking every weekend. A year later, she had one of the biggest songs in the world with her global smash ‘Dance Monkey’ and has since then notched over 8 billion global streams across all her music. In July of this year, Tones And I released her anxiously awaited debut album WELCOME TO THE MADHOUSE – a moving and magnetic 14-track collection written entirely by the Australian artist with her co-producing every song – which debuted at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart.
